Regulaz Council Meeting
8-19-02 ,
Page 14
Dr. Parker requested Chief Mohr mention why we aren't having any bidding at this point.
Chief Mohr answered we, in good faith, thought this was on the State Cooperative Purchasing
Plan--and when we did this several months ago in June, it was. When you approved it at the
June Council meeting, the State Controlling Board, for whatever reason, rejected the bids. When
I found out about this in a housekeeping measure of taking their number and applying it to our
paperwork for the auditors next year, I found out that it was not approved so I contacted the State
and they stated that the Controlling Board rejected it. I wrote a letter to the representative and
asked what's going on and they responded in good faith that Finley Fire is still the lowest bid.
Yet, the Controlling Board did not approve this. I contacted the Law Deparhnent and Ms. Calta
suggested that we have a dialog with Finley and basically we found out that whatever we would
do if we put this out for bid again, the same results would occur 2 months down the road.
Nothing changes, so this is a housekeeping measure.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any further comments.
There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
. Executive Session (Personnel & Real Estate Matters)
Council President Buckholtz requested a motion to recess into Executive Session for real estate and
personnel matters.
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to recess into Executive Session for real
estate and personnel matters.
Dr. Parker asked, should we do any open portion if anyone has anything to say?
Council President Buckholtz said we can do an Open Portion first for anything on New Business.
OPEN PORTION - 3-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state
their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under
"New Business" only.
There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Council went into Executive Session at 10:45 p.m.
