Regulaz Council Meeting
8-19-02
Page 9
1
e.
?
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of
$31,181.22 to First Energy for ancillary costs of moving electrical wires along S.O.M. Center
Road.
Council President Buckholtz asked, any discussion?
Mr. Marquardt asked, when you say multiple funding sources does that mean that this could be
out of the debt?
Mr. Brett said yes, we are not sure if it is going to be covered or how much will be covered.
Mr. Marquardt asked why would it not be covered?
Mr. Brett said I think just in trying to figure out with utilities how much they'd cover to how
much would have had to have been moved. .
Mr. Marquardt asked, did we move this farther than we needed to?
Mr. Brett said I don't think so, no.
? Mr. Marquardt asked, why would it not be allowed?
Mr. Brett replied, I just haven't had it confirmed that it is going to be reimbursed.
Mayor Rinker said I would add, for what it's worth, I'm assuming that all utility costs are going
to be covered and if they try to say not then we will argue it. There is no indication that there is
anything wrong, it's just that when you are dealing with O.D.O.T. until it's over, it ain't over.
Mr. Marquardt asked why were these extra--why were these ancillary?
Council President Buckholtz said this came up at S.O.M. widening but I don't remember the
answer.
Mr. Brett asked Doug, any idea?
Mr. Metzung said I can't recall the first $31,000; that is projects that have already been done.
The $12,000 now is where the underground wiring is to the homes up by Wildwood; it's to tie
those residents back in. They have to cross and put a new transformer in the ground and then tie
everyone else back in. For whatever reason that is not considered part of their amount.
Mayor Rinker said I know what we're encountering on some of these things with utilities is they
are literally uncovering some of these things under the ground and they are finding either
something different than records had either indicated or never quite indicated and were
2 encountering those kinds of adjustments. That's why I say and they argue that these are things
