Regular Council Minutes <br />11-18-02 <br />Page 17 <br />Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of <br />$34,227 to Concord Road Equipment of Painesville for the purchase of one (1) heavy-duty <br />combination dump body and rear spreader. <br />Council President Buckholtz said obviously, one goes with the other. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 2002-40, entitled; "An emergency ordinance establishing terms <br />and conditions for the start up funding of the p Pi-Society.Org." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and <br />Council as a Whole. <br />Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an <br />ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2002-40. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked, any discussion? <br />Mr. Marquardt said I did not feel that this preceding ordinance for the $25,000 was justified <br />based on the low level of definition of this and the fact that Mayfield Village was going into it <br />alone without anybody else in the school district contributing to it. So I can't support this <br />ordinance. <br />Mrs. Cinco asked, have you any further information in the last month, Bill, about what's been <br />going on with the..... . <br />Council President Buckholtz said I am going to defer to Mr. Thomas. <br />Mr. Thomas said I can address that. I really am very excited about this program. we have a flier <br />that is going to be coming out in the VOV and will be distributed to our Middle School and the <br />High School 8th Grade said they will post it, but we will introduce p Pi Society over the holidays. <br />And what we are going to be doing is basically taking what we call road trips. The flier looks <br />like this, I will show you, well we don't have it here, but we are. going to take three trips: one to <br />NASA, one to Kent State University's Liquid Crystal Institute and another to NewCat; that is the <br />New Center of Art and Technology and we are going to charge the students that are going to be <br />attending that. And then we're also going to have a couple of days where we actually will be <br />using the basement of the Board of Education and we have furniture that will be donated and <br />we're hoping to get carpeting donated. So, we are going to introduce p Pi Society during the <br />
