Regular Council Meeting
12-16-02
Page 10
FOP representatives. That's really pretty much it. Anything else to add, Patsy or Tom? Mrs.
Mills said just that we're having a meeting on the 8`h too. Just for the committee and Phil.
Dr. Parker said right; we are having a meeting just for the committee.
OLD BUSINESS
OPEN PORTION - 3-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first
state their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items
under "Old Business" only.
Council President Buckholtz asked-those of you who would like to speak-there's a lady out
there, I'm sorry, we kind of put her in mid-motion there. Just state your name and address. (She
had come to the podium after the Open Portion at the beginning of the meeting had passed.
Sharon Krnc Koren, 785 Village Circle said I apologize for the earlier interruption; I didn't
realize there was another open portion. I came before you about a year and a half ago with
regards to what looked like an outhouse; it's a sewage pump plant, something-prominently
displayed on the island directly in front of our house as well as some of the others. At that time,
Council assured me that they would do something about getting it moved or trying to hide it or
make it look like something other than an outhouse. Bernie Samac was in touch with Cuyahoga
County Sewer Commissioner and he was told that they could not do anything with it so what
they had finally decided to do was move it to the center of the island and re-shrub around it.
That was over a year ago. I kept in touch with him; he kept telling me to have patience, it was
going to get done, it was going to get done. Then, last Fall, or in August I believe, they changed
Commissioners or somebody or something changed. I've never heard back. At this point we've
got friends, family, people coming to visit on the street, not only making comments to us but
making comments to other neighbors-what the heck is this outhouse doing on the street? One
of my neighbors-ter one of my friends told me that her husband was tempted to come and paint
a moon on it. I am really begging that you guys take some type of action or keep on top on
this-that this will in fact be moved. It really is an eyesore.
Mr. Cappello said yes; about 3 months ago we did contact the Cuyahoga County Engineer. The
original Cuyahoga County Engineer, Ruth Langsner, did retire. So, the interim gentleman took
over when the County went though its most recent buy out. So, they've lost about, I don't know,
30-40% of their employees. So I have talked to the gentleman, Mr. Bill Schneider, who says it is
on the list but at this present time that's not the highest priority. About 2 weeks ago I did call
Mr. Masonis (the interim Sanitary Engineer) and I haven't received a call back but I will call him
again this week and if we have your name and number I could inform you on what I do find out
from him. But it is on the list and it's not necessarily the highest priority because of right now
they aren't hiring anymore employees so they have to kind of do their maintenance first and then
that's kind of secondary on the list.
Ms. Krnc Koren said, tell me what not high priority and it's on the list means in terms of time.
