Regular Council Meeting
12-16-02
Page 4
too) as well as January 27th will be our Regular Meeting of Council at 8:00 at which time
committee members will be sworn in to their respective positions. That's all I have at this time.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS
Service- Mr. Metzung said thank you, Council President. I just have two items; one being that
due to the early snow and the late leaves falling, we are going to continue leaf collection as late
into the year as physically possible with the weather; that is to facilitate getting all the leaves this
Fall as, again, I repeat, we will not be picking up leaves next Spring. I'm also requesting that on
the agenda tonight we have 3 vehicles that we're going to be purchasing from 32 Ford and that
$300 be added to each vehicle for the delivery of the vehicle. When I wrote these down I didn't
realize where Batavia Ohio was. It's just outside Cincinnati so I think it makes more sense to
have them delivered. Thank you.
Law Department- Mr. Diemert said yes, Mr. President, the only report I have is I would like to
introduce my nephew Dominic Diemert and Kate and their fellow classmates from Cathedral
Latin Notre Dame who came to see real government successfully in operation.
Everyone applauded.
Fire Department - Chief Mohr said we had talked earlier at Caucus regarding the ordinance for
false alarm. I had an ordinance book that did not have the correct 1999 amendment as Mr.
Diemert suggested it was in there. So, next month I would like to come back and start the
process over for a false alarm ordinance based upon the 1999 amended ordinance so we'll come
back to this in January with your permission.
Parks & Recreation -Council President Buckholtz said Mr. Thomas is not here tonight. Mr.
Marrie said I will pick up on some of this when I do my Recreation report; do it all at one time.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
Activities Committee -Mrs. Roman said no report. Mayor Rinker said there was the Holiday
Tree Lighting; Menorah Lighting; the Commission on Aging party; we've got Santa Claus
coming around--- Mrs. Roman said that's part of the Recreation report [Santa.}
Architectural Review Board -Mrs. Garbo said we approved two new additions and denied two
to be rescheduled for more discussion next month.
Board of Appeals- Mrs. Garbo said Board of Appeals will meet tomorrow evening.
Cemetery -Mrs. Mills said we have put some wreaths up on the cemetery fence. Doug, would
you look into that fence again forme, will you please. I've tried to fix it but it doesn't stay fixed.
And I know you've tried to do it.
