Regular Council Meeting
1-27-03
Page 11
? approval was URS Greiner for Issue One applications in the Upper 40 area for $5,000 and that
was recommended for approval. That was it.
Hillcrest Council of Councils - Council President Buckholtz said Mr. Marrie is not here and I
don't believe there was any activity on that committee.
Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said we are working two days a week to meet the March 1" and
2na opening for the Ohio Bicentennial which will be from 1-4 in the afternoon. Bids have gone
out for the replacement of the lighting fixtures on the second floor. Officers will be installed at
the February 12th meeting.
M.A.R.C. - Council President Buckholtz said again Mr. Marrie is responsible for M.A.R.C.
Board; he is not here and Mrs. Cinco said they usually don't have a meeting in January.
Mr. Thomas said they met January 9t' and the next meeting is scheduled.
Council President Buckholtz asked any activity we need to know about, Bill?
Mr. Thomas said they just discussed programs and there is a shared program with the Chess Club
and we split a substantial amount of profit; it's a 50-50 split.
Council President Buckholtz asked how is the Chess Program? About how many kids?
.?
Mr. Thomas said it's going very, very well. About 30 kids.
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt said no report.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt said no report.
Recreation Board - Mr. Thomas said the Recreation Board met on January 15 and discussed
programs and facilities. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday; February 19: This is the
same night that we'll hold our Summer Camp and Softball Programs for registration.
Sewer Liaison Committee - Council President Buckholtz said I know there was no meeting but I
will just instruct Donna to send a memo or defer that to Joanne Cinco, Patsy Mills, and Bill
Marquardt and perhaps have an organizational meeting or just I'll review what projects need to
be coming our way or some literature there. If we get any conversation from the EPA or
Cuyahoga County.
Mayor Rinker said one tliing and I'm going to ask Phil on the floor here. We have, for two years
in succession applied for Issue 2 funding for a sanitary sewer project and other road
improvements including storm for the Meadowood area. And last I was aware we did not
qualify under the conventional cap but there was some question as to whether or not the
? DOPWIC is still looking at small governments. Have we had any feedback at all either from the
County or the State on the status of that?
?..
