Regular Council Meeting
1-27-03
Page 21
ti
? Council reconvened at 10:08 p.m.
-? ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL
There is no further formal business.
CLOSING COMMENTS
Mr. Marquardt said I just have a question for Phil. I think I read in the paper that you were quoted as
saying that S.O.M. widening was up to 13 %2 million?
Mr. Brett said no; that's the overall budget. It's always been in the area of $14 million between the
$9 million grant from O.D.O.T.; the remaining 3.1 on the SIB loan.
Mr.1Vlarquardt said yes, I know but the budget for the roadway was not that high.
Mr. Brett said no; all we're doing is carrying over-we do not know what the roadway is-we won't
know that until the contacts are let.
Dr. Parker said there would be some projection though.
-:? Council President Buckholtz said I think now that we have the right-of-way; that would be
? something for S.O.M. Center?
Mr. Brett said I think we've always been in around $9 million. And we've been doing that for 4
years so I don't know where that.....
Council President Buckholtz said well we need to get an update on numbers either through you, or
through S.O.M. Widening or through a combination of both. Now that right-of-way is kind of
locked in; right-of-way is a major component and all.
Ms. Calta said Mr. Marquardt; I had a conversation with Mr. Hovancsek and maybe I shouldn't say
this but he can tell you that right now there's not a lot of work going on for contractors. A lot of bids
are coming in lower than projected.
Mr. Marquardt said we've had original estimates and we've had some actuals now. So, there would
have to be a way of estimating where we stand.
Mr. Brett said the only component that I know of is the right-of-way acquisition were we budgeted
one million fifty and we probably came in at one million forty.....
Mr. Marquardt said we also have a big chunk that's engineering work because I am sure it is over
R' what we've originally estimated.
t
?
Mr. Brett said but that's been-those have all been taken into account with each modification.
i:...;
