Special Council Meeting <br />2-24-03 Page 1 <br />?MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />February 24, 2003 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, February 24, 2003 at <br />7:05 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President Bill <br />Buckholtz presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Marrie, <br />Mrs. Mills Dr. Parker, and Mr. Riter <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Lt. Dearden, Mr. Diemert, <br />Mr. Metzung, and Mrs. Roman <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 2003-01, entitled; "A Resolution Authorizing the Mayor and <br />Finance Director to seek financial assistance from the State Issue I Clean Ohio Program for funding <br />of the Beechers Brook Outfall Project Fund, the Upper 40 Outfall Project and the South Parkview <br />Park Annex Acquisition Project." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an <br />ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2003-01. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. <br />Mr. Marquardt asked, how many applications; are there 3 applications or one application? <br />Mr. Brett said 3 applications. <br />Mr. Marquardt asked, 3 applications; they are all separate? <br />Councii President Buckholtz asked Mayor Rinker, do you want to explain. <br />Mayor Rinker said Beechers Brook is essentially the Falkner property. Beechers Brook runs through <br />there. And what I have asked for is that we look to acquire the Falkner property. You should all <br />have had a chance to look at the memo that Phil and I put together. If I can answer any questions on <br />that? But my view is that the Falkner property is property we want to get. It is park land. In and of <br />? itself I think it is very usable property for our purposes as parkland. If we succeed in breaking this <br />up in 3 separate applications, we have an opportunity to recoup the money that we spend or are
