Remember the Bennett family from the Bennett <br />Van Funeral Home? He was in the well and pump business. His father did that also, and he took <br />the business over. They moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina and ran a restaurant for some <br />time. Then they moved up north to North Carolina. He had two heart attacks and two bypasses. <br />This one was a massive heart attack. He was very active in the community as a Councilman, <br />Mayor and he was also a volunteer Fireman. Back then when he was a volunteer Fireman, that <br />was what we had, volunteer fire people, when the whistle blew, everybody ran. <br />Mrs. Cinco asked, how long ago did he leave Mayfield Village? <br />Mrs. Mills said, probably over 20 years. He was on Council with Mr. Busa and with Mr. Beebe <br />also. <br />Mr. Brett said, his daughter stopped by today and said he was involved in helping to preserve the <br />records when the fire broke out in "69", so he was on the Fire Department then. He was good <br />friends with Mr. Rentschler. <br />Mrs: Mills said, he was a relative of the Rentschler's. <br />S.O.M. TREE REMOVAL <br />Council President Buckholtz said, the next item is the S.O.M. Cnt Rd tree clearing. <br />Mr. Metzung said, hopefully everyone has a copy of the ordinance that Diane Calta put together, <br />not to exceed Eighteen Thousand Dollars ($18,000.00) to the Berbakos Company. I ask that you <br />pass it this evening so that we can move forward. <br />Mr. Brett said, I'm going to need to bump that, because the number I got was Nineteen <br />Thousand, three hundred sixty (19,360,000). <br />Mr. Metzung said, I did talk to Gerrard today and he did mention that. <br />Mr. Brett said, if we could make that $20,000.00. <br />Mr. Riter, seconded by Mrs. Cinco made a motion to amend the amount of Ordinance <br />No. 2003-10 not to exceed $20,000.00 to the Berbakos Company. <br />Mrs. Mills asked, where are these trees Doug? <br />Mr. Metzung said, there are three locations where the Indiana bat trees are. That's at White Rd <br />along the cemetery, you'll see several dead trees there marked, and in the swale by Wanda's <br />house, on both sides of the street, are the two major areas with the Indiana bat trees that we had
