Special Mtg Minutes 3-31-03 Page 6 to clear out. The other trees are just trees at locations where C.E.I. needs to get in to put poles in. They're putting their poles in pretty quickly, they couldn't wait for the actual tree clearing contract. We needed to move on this part of it first. Mrs. Mills asked, are those the same bats that are in the tower of the Board of Education Building? Mr. Metzung said, I am completely unaware of what kind of bats those are. I guess they're different, because these bats migrate, that's why you have to take these trees down before the 15th 1VIr. Riter asked, this is not going to disturb the warblers, correct? Mayor Rinker said no, they don't like the bats at all, they'll be happy. Mrs. Mills said, you better hope the conservationists don't hear that because they get mosquitoes, and now we're going to have the West Nile Virus. Council President Buckholtz said, let me read the ordinance. Please have the correct ordinance number reflect. First Readin2 of Ordinance No. 2003-10, entitled; " An Emergency Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with Berbakos for tree removal and cutting related to S.O.M. Center Widening Project without the necessity of advertisement and formal bidding. Council President Buckholtz said, we have a motion on the floor to amend the amount of this not to exceed $20,000.00. All in favor of the motion to amend: ROLL CALL: Ayes: All Nays: None Motion Carried Ordinance amended Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. ROLL CALL: Ayes: All Nays: None Motion Carried Rules Suspended Mr. Riter, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2003-10. Council President Buckholtz asked, any discussion? Mrs. Cinco asked, there will be more coming for tree removal? Mr. Metzung said yes. There will be tree clearing in the overall contract.
