The other trees are just trees at locations where C.E.I. needs to get in to put poles in. <br />They're putting their poles in pretty quickly, they couldn't wait for the actual tree clearing <br />contract. We needed to move on this part of it first. <br />Mrs. Mills asked, are those the same bats that are in the tower of the Board of Education <br />Building? <br />Mr. Metzung said, I am completely unaware of what kind of bats those are. I guess they're <br />different, because these bats migrate, that's why you have to take these trees down before the <br />15th <br />1VIr. Riter asked, this is not going to disturb the warblers, correct? <br />Mayor Rinker said no, they don't like the bats at all, they'll be happy. <br />Mrs. Mills said, you better hope the conservationists don't hear that because they get mosquitoes, <br />and now we're going to have the West Nile Virus. <br />Council President Buckholtz said, let me read the ordinance. Please have the correct ordinance <br />number reflect. <br />First Readin2 of Ordinance No. 2003-10, entitled; " An Emergency Ordinance authorizing the <br />Mayor to enter into a contract with Berbakos for tree removal and cutting related to S.O.M. <br />Center Widening Project without the necessity of advertisement and formal bidding. <br />Council President Buckholtz said, we have a motion on the floor to amend the amount of <br />this not to exceed $20,000.00. All in favor of the motion to amend: <br />ROLL CALL: Ayes: All <br />Nays: None Motion Carried <br />Ordinance amended <br />Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an <br />ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALL: Ayes: All <br />Nays: None Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Riter, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2003-10. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked, any discussion? <br />Mrs. Cinco asked, there will be more coming for tree removal? <br />Mr. Metzung said yes. There will be tree clearing in the overall contract.
