Regular Council Meeting
4-21-03
Page 10
Mr. Diemert confirmed for the Village; public good always being the purpose.
Mr. Fiorelli said I would like to find out where I stand in the Village from what I'm thiriking.
Mr. Diemert said sure; Mr. Fiorelli said thank you; Council President Buckholtz said thank you
Mr. Diemert.
NEW BUSIIVESS :
Application for New Liquor Permig - Yours Truly - 6675 Wilson Mills Road
Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Cinco questioned if this should be a renewal and Council President Buckholtz
asked Mr. Diemert if he could explain it.
Mr. Diemert said I don't know why it's not called a reapplication. They can't and do not own more
than one unless they were transferring it but if they were it would say transferring.
Dr. Parker asked if we could get some further information on this for the next Caucus.
Mrs. Roman said we have to get this [form] back to them within 30 days and Mr. Diemert added if
we want a hearing.
Mr. Diemert said I don't think Council is asking for a hearing-you don't want to object, you just
want to find out more information about it.
Mrs. Roman said that's what I wanted to make sure that you aren't requesting a hearing.
A brief discussion was held.
Council President Buckholtz asked, so we don't need to act on this tonight; we need to get some
more information?
Mr. Diemert said if you wanted to object to them owning a liquor license, you would have to object
and as we went through with the other establishment you need criteria upon which to object to any
application because the State controls these types of matters. We have no basis to object because it's
of the same District as the other place was that we've already investigated so I would say that if you
want to you can and get a hearing and we can always call it off-or if you are just curious we will
find out the details about this and clarify it for you in writing.
Mr. Marrie said we need to find out if it's new or a renew. If iYs renewed it's a completely different
ballgame.
Mrs. Cinco said there's not even a renewed place to check.
Dr. Parker said and also the qualification as to what extent it encompasses-is it beer, wine, hard
liquor, certain types of sales/times, etc. We ought to know.
