Regular Council Meeting
5-19-03
Page 6
he asked be purchased this evening. That is immediately to the south of this particular parcel.
That would leave two other parcels which the contracts call for the purchase of in 2004 and 2005
respectively. It would be our intent to see if we can defray some of the costs of those through the
Issue One process (which should be easier at that point-we're appending them to an existing
park.) I am open for any questions.
Council President Buckholtz asked, does that cover parcels listed in 2003-11, 12, and 13?
Mr. Brett and Mrs. Cinco said yes and 14. Council President Buckholtz said I don't see 14 on
there. Mr. Brett and Mrs. Cinco said it is under New Business.
Mr. Riter asked Council President Buckholtz what he needs passed tonight.
Mr. Brett said the best thing would be to pass all four. (The one I need the least is 2; the ones I
need most are 1 and 3.)
Mayor Rinker said the fact is we are buying that parcel. It is a parcel that we are going to
dedicate to parkland purposes. There are some intricacies as to how we go about the actual
dedication of the dollars that are being used and ultimately the negotiation that we've worked out
with Dr. Falkner. But I think unless someone has a real problem with the fact that we are
purchasing in total all that acreage, our request is that we should approve those all.
Dr. Parker said Finance discussed and also recommended approval of a114 parcels at this time.
Mrs. Mills said Phil will be attending Planning and Zoning to explain this so they can proceed
with their lot splits on this parcel on June 2.
Council President Buckholtz asked, there isn't a benefit that you are trying to wait for?
Mr. Brett replied none that I can think of.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any other comments.
There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted (as amended)

??
