Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council . Monday, February 20, 2017 Page 14 Heights and Mayfield Village. We are now some 70 members strong. We have received enormous support from Mayfield Village especially. Chief Edelman and Chief Carcioppolo have been extraordinarily helpful. We are here tonight to recognize Bill Thomas who has done an outstanding job supporting our team through many different activities. Bill constantly contacted us and asked for our help for many events. Bill was always very timely. He was very. thorough in giving us instructions. We complied. Bill, thank you very much for all your time and effort. We appreciate all you have done. Good luck on your retirement. I am Pat Gregoric. Bill is our biggest cheerleader. He has always been very thankful and appreciative of all of our members. Nobody, nobody does that better than Bill! We have for Bill some emergency supplies in case he needs them. You will find Bill with his flashlight. Mr. Thomas stated, we are going to need you for Cruise Night and the Debbie Hudacko Run. Shane will take over. Thank you very much. PRESENTATION BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL AS A WHOLE: Mayor Bodnar stated, Bill, I would like to just suggest to you that Barb might need some of those emergency supplies, so you may want to share those. It is my pleasure to be here tonight. On behalf of myself and on behalf of our Council, Administration, Department Heads and certainly everyone in Mayfield Village, I would like to propose the following: Resolution No. 2017-04, entitled, "A resolution thanking Mayfield Village Parks and Recreation Director William D. Thomas for 18 years of dedicated service to Mayfield Village. Introduced by Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole. (All Departments). WHEREAS, on March 1, 1999, William D. "Bill" Thomas was hired by then-Mayor Bruce G. Rinker as Mayfield Village's first Parks & Recreation Director; and WHEREAS, before bringing his talents to Mayfield Village, Bill Thomas had already been enthusiastically dedicated to recreational programming for over 25 years, working in Orange, Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights; and WHEREAS, Bill Thomas has served the community of Mayfield Village with exceptional passion and commitment for over 18 years; and VVHEREAS, Mayfield Village and its residents have clearly benefitted and prospered as a result of the creation of the Parks & Recreation Department and Bill Thomas's ability to program just
