Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council , Monday, February 20, 2017 Page 4 It was just recently on Cleveland.com that the amount we will receive from the Loca1 Government Fund between 2017 and 2019 under the proposed budget would be decreased by 42% in Mayfield Village. We are unhappy about some of these proposed changes. We have written to our local legislators asking them to look at that closely and vote against those changes. We have drafted a letter. It will be in Council packets on Friday and are also available on-line. We are keeping up to date on that and working toward not allowing some of those negative changes to go through. Thank you. COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT JOSEPH SAPONARO Bill, on behalf of myself and Council, we a11 share gratitude and thanks for all of the hard work, effort and your undying support of our Village. DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: Ron Wynne (Finance) - I just wanted to mention our annual 2016 audit by our Independent Certified Public Accountant has been completed. The report has been sent down to the State of Ohio Auditor's office for their final review. Once that has been completed and available, I will let everybody know. Shane McAvinew (Parks and Recreation) - Commission on Aging - Donna would like to take the opportunity to thank Bill Thomas on the occasion of his retirement. Parks and Recreation Board - We have moved the Easter Party from the Civic Center to the Community Room due to safety concerns in proximity to the street. The Debbie Hudacko Run has moved to Saturday, August 5'?'. Gazebo concerts will be three lunch concerts, Silver Creek, Eddie and the Edsels, Jerry Cole and The Drifters. Thursday after work concerts will be Jersey Beats, Frankie Vallie Tribute, Red Light Roxy; Out of Eden, Eagles Tribute, LaFlavour Variety Show. Special thanks go out to Sean McNamara from the Cobras Soccer Club for the $2,000 donation to new goals for the soccer fields. . Senior Services - The Comrnunity Partnership on Aging lunch will be on Wednesday, April 5th. March Foot Clinics are scheduled for the 3`d and the 24?' at the Civic Center. The March Lunch N Movie at Governor's Village is on Wednesday, March 15''. The movie is FYied Green Tomatoes. The next Senior Services newsletter will be mailed out the last week of February.
