Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council , <br />Monday, February 20, 2017 <br />Page 4 <br />It was just recently on Cleveland.com that the amount we will receive from the Loca1 <br />Government Fund between 2017 and 2019 under the proposed budget would be decreased by <br />42% in Mayfield Village. We are unhappy about some of these proposed changes. We have <br />written to our local legislators asking them to look at that closely and vote against those changes. <br />We have drafted a letter. It will be in Council packets on Friday and are also available on-line. <br />We are keeping up to date on that and working toward not allowing some of those negative <br />changes to go through. Thank you. <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT JOSEPH SAPONARO <br />Bill, on behalf of myself and Council, we a11 share gratitude and thanks for all of the hard work, <br />effort and your undying support of our Village. We look forward to seeing you in a different way <br />as you continue to be a part of our family. We wish you the best of luck. It has been a privilege. <br />Thank you. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />Ron Wynne (Finance) - I just wanted to mention our annual 2016 audit by our Independent <br />Certified Public Accountant has been completed. The report has been sent down to the State of <br />Ohio Auditor's office for their final review. Once that has been completed and available, I will <br />let everybody know. <br />Shane McAvinew (Parks and Recreation) - <br />Commission on Aging - Donna would like to take the opportunity to thank Bill Thomas <br />on the occasion of his retirement. <br />Parks and Recreation Board - We have moved the Easter Party from the Civic Center <br />to the Community Room due to safety concerns in proximity to the street. The Debbie <br />Hudacko Run has moved to Saturday, August 5'?'. Gazebo concerts will be three lunch <br />concerts, Silver Creek, Eddie and the Edsels, Jerry Cole and The Drifters. Thursday after <br />work concerts will be Jersey Beats, Frankie Vallie Tribute, Red Light Roxy; Out of Eden, <br />Eagles Tribute, LaFlavour Variety Show. Special thanks go out to Sean McNamara from <br />the Cobras Soccer Club for the $2,000 donation to new goals for the soccer fields. <br />. Senior Services - The Comrnunity Partnership on Aging lunch will be on Wednesday, <br />April 5th. March Foot Clinics are scheduled for the 3`d and the 24?' at the Civic Center. <br />The March Lunch N Movie at Governor's Village is on Wednesday, March 15''. The <br />movie is FYied Green Tomatoes. The next Senior Services newsletter will be mailed out <br />the last week of February. <br />Council President Saponaro explained, you will notice on the agenda that we skipped a lot of <br />Department Heads. There were no reports and we were trying to move things forward so
