Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, May 15, 2017 <br />Page 5 Third, a reminder to everyone that we are having our Town Hall on the budget one week from <br />today at 7:00. After that there will be a discussion on how to use the 911 Cellular. It will be a <br />wonderful night. A couple of people were so excited to come that they actually came tonight one <br />week ahead of time. I had to send them away and ask thein to come back. Diane is my witness. <br />They came a week ahead they were so excited about it. Come back and see us in one week. <br />Last but not least, Doug Metzung, again with the great Service Department, through Doug's <br />efforts and Susan's and Frank Stupinsky's, Mayfield Village has been recently designated a Tree <br />City for the year 2016. Thank you for all of the work that went into that. We look forward to <br />getting a plaque like this every year. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />1Vlary Betsa (Council Clerk) <br />. Upcoming Events <br />- NOCCA meeting is this Thursday. Let me know if you would like to attend. <br />- Ethics Training - May 31 S` at Gates Mills. Let me know if you would like to attend. <br />. Civil Service Commaission - We currently have an advertisement in the paper and on our <br />web for a Civil Service examination for Service Deparhnent entry level employee. <br />Applications are being accepted until the end of this week. The test will be administered <br />in June. Applications are available on the website or stop in the Finance office. The <br />Commission will accept up to 40 applications. <br />. Recorcis Commfssion - Shred Day was held on Saturday, May 13th. Thank you Patsy <br />for all of your hard work. Frank, Maura and Laurie Hughes were also in attendance. It's <br />a very hard job. There were 95 Mayfield Village boxes shred and 278 boxes from <br />residents, representing 4080 pounds. <br />Tom Cappello (Engineer) - Providing an update on the Mayfield Village. 2017 watermain <br />project which encompasses Joyce, Hemingway, Robert Circle, Worton, South Woodlane, North <br />Woodlane, Woodlane and Norman, we had a pre-construction meeting last Tuesday. The <br />contractor has informed us that they are planning on beginning work the week of June Sth <br />Council President Saponaro asked, do you have any update on how the schedule is on the <br />freeway project? <br />Mr. Cappello replied, I have not attended a meeting with them yet. As far as I can see, they are <br />working pretty fast. The Chief can give a better idea as far as the lane closures and such, but <br />they have not closed the. one eastbound lane as of yet. <br />Chief Edehnan added, last I heard, they are doing lane closures this week. They put the scale up <br />for the pillars, as you can see, but that is really all I know. When I get the word, you will get the <br />word. They don't let me know ahead of time, believe me. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, it seems to be running pretty smoothly for the most part.
