Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, May 15, 2017
Page 5 Third, a reminder to everyone that we are having our Town Hall on the budget one week from
today at 7:00. After that there will be a discussion on how to use the 911 Cellular. It will be a
wonderful night. A couple of people were so excited to come that they actually came tonight one
week ahead of time. I had to send them away and ask thein to come back. Diane is my witness.
They came a week ahead they were so excited about it. Come back and see us in one week.
Last but not least, Doug Metzung, again with the great Service Department, through Doug's
efforts and Susan's and Frank Stupinsky's, Mayfield Village has been recently designated a Tree
City for the year 2016. Thank you for all of the work that went into that. We look forward to
getting a plaque like this every year.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
1Vlary Betsa (Council Clerk)
. Recorcis Commfssion - Shred Day was held on Saturday, May 13th. Thank you Patsy
for all of your hard work. Frank, Maura and Laurie Hughes were also in attendance. It's
a very hard job. There were 95 Mayfield Village boxes shred and 278 boxes from
residents, representing 4080 pounds.
Tom Cappello (Engineer) - Providing an update on the Mayfield Village. 2017 watermain
project which encompasses Joyce, Hemingway, Robert Circle, Worton, South Woodlane, North
Woodlane, Woodlane and Norman, we had a pre-construction meeting last Tuesday. The
contractor has informed us that they are planning on beginning work the week of June Sth
Council President Saponaro asked, do you have any update on how the schedule is on the
freeway project?
Mr. Cappello replied, I have not attended a meeting with them yet. As far as I can see, they are
working pretty fast. The Chief can give a better idea as far as the lane closures and such, but
they have not closed the. one eastbound lane as of yet.
Chief Edehnan added, last I heard, they are doing lane closures this week. They put the scale up
for the pillars, as you can see, but that is really all I know. When I get the word, you will get the
word. They don't let me know ahead of time, believe me.
Council President Saponaro stated, it seems to be running pretty smoothly for the most part.
