Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, May 15, 2017 <br />Page 6 <br />Chief Edelman replied, your lips to God's ears. So far so good. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. <br />Chief Carcioppolo (Fire) - Since our last Council meeting, through yesterday, our department <br />responded to 71 EMS calls and 30 fire calls. We are 73 calls ahead of where we were last year <br />as of yesterday. I conducted interviews with the proinotional list we have. I hope to be doing a <br />swearing in for the proinotional and some additional fire departinent personnel at the June <br />Council meeting. I will be working on a bid spec for a new roof on the Fire station. <br />Shaane NdcAvinew (Parks and Recreation) - <br />. Parks and Iaecreation Board - We need volunteers for Cruise Night on June 10"'. <br />There are quite a few spots still to fill. <br />. Senior Services - On May S"', we held our Anniversary Party. We had 60 attendees. It <br />was an enjoyable time. Tomorrow, Mayf`ield Village Senior Services will have a booth at <br />the Hilton Garden Inn for a senior luncheon hosted by 107.3. Staff and volunteers will be <br />there between 11:00 and 3:00 tomorrow. They are expecting 300-350 people. They will <br />distribute fliers of everything going on at the Senior Center and different activities. The <br />next Community Partnership on Aging Movie will be Wednesday, June 14I'. Governor's <br />Village movie is June 28t1i A trip is scheduled to Steele Mansion on June 7t" and to an <br />American Paris on June 24"'. On Wednesday, June 21St, we will have our first lunch <br />concert at the Gazebo froin 12-2. The band will be Silver Creek. International Day of <br />Yoga is scheduled for 6:00 on Wednesday June 21St. You can register on-line through the <br />Parks Department. <br />Committee Iaeports: <br />Activities Committee - Mr. Jerome - We met a couple weeks ago_ We discussed the Grove, <br />senior programs and the Easter party. Although it is a Rec Board function, we gave ideas we had <br />for next year. We also discussed upcoming events, Cruise Night and Fireworks. We talked <br />about preparation for the Pancake Breakfast which I was able to help out with. I think it went <br />well. A lot of balloons were created and a lot of lovely music by the harpist was created too. It <br />was a great event as usual. If you were not there, we will see you next year. The next meeting is <br />September 201n <br />Citizens Advisory Committee - 1VIrs. Mills - At our last meeting, we had Christina Austin <br />from The Gathering Place. She explained what The Gathering Place was all about. The services <br />offered are very interesting. Also, Garry Regan gave us an update on The Grove programming <br />and what's going on there. Our next meeting is next Monday at 6:30. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, I don't know if everyone has seen this, but hopefully they <br />have, The Grove summer schedule is out. This was also passed out at Citizen's Advisory, the <br />2017 Hillcrest Suminer Concert Series. It lists Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Riclunond <br />Heights, and South Euclid - all of the different events going on as far as their summer concert
