Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, July 24, 2017
Page 14
Mr. Jeroine stated, unless I ain wrong, I just double checked it, it says currently political signs
are allowed to be 9 square feet? .
Mr. Marrelli asked, is that the proposed legislation?
Mr. Jerome replied, no, this is what it is now. I was just trying to compare.
Mr. Marrelli stated, nobody's done it.
Dr. Parker stated, the problem is is that if we conform to that, there have been some larger
political signs than 2 x 3. You have seen things hanging on fences. The problein is is if we
allow that to be the conforming standard, we have to allow residents, everybody, to make the
same big sign.
Mr. Marrelli stated, that's why you need to make a decision.
Dr. Parker stated, that's why I wanted to be clear. It's not like we can say political can be bigger
but residential can be smaller. I am really happy you brought those down so people can put a
face to a size. Mr. Guidetti replied, I believe the changes are highlighted in the copy of the ordinance
distributed so you can see exactly what the old square footage was compared to what is being
proposed.
Council President Saponaro asked, any other discussion on this? Any other coinments?
There were none.
ADJOURNMENT
Mrs._ Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to adjourn.
The meeting adjourned at 8:38 p.m. The next Council meeting is scheduled for August 21, 2017
at 8:00 p.m.
JOSEPHM. JXPQN)WO, COLJNCIL PRESIDENT

BRENDA T. BODNAR, MAYOR
MAR . BETSA, CLERK OF COUNCIL
