Senior Services - A reminder that this Thursday at the Community Room we will be <br />having the Senior Fair froin 5:00-7:00. Please attend or let people know. It's the second <br />year in a row. We will Have light food and entertainment. We will have a demonstration <br />on August 29th from Flo Smith from watercolors. If you are interested in attending, it's at <br />10:00 a.m. There will be a special program on Medicare on Wednesday, August 30t1i at <br />1:00 p:m. at the Civic Center. We also have our trip on September 8ffi to President <br />Garfield's home with high tea in the Sister's Room. If you are interested in that, please <br />sign up. Our next Community Partnership on Aging movie is Wednesday, September <br />13t''. Governor's Village will have a movie on September 27u. We have a handful of <br />classes coming up from Matter of Balance, Bereavement, Broadway Movement, <br />Cooking, kriitting, crocheting, Spanish and watercolors. Donna has been keeping people <br />" really busy. _ <br />. Parks and Recreation - In your packet you should have had the next brochure that is <br />going out. Thank you to Danielle Echt for all of the hard work she put in in collaborating <br />that with all of the different groups. It would not have been possible without all of her <br />hard work. Keep in mirid that the pool is open.for one more weekend, this coming <br />weekend. We had a nice turnout last weekend. A couple hundred people on Sunday. <br />The residents are very responsive and happy to have the pool open. This is the last <br />weekend of The Grove events. If you haven't had a chance, Friday and Saturday are the <br />last events. Please stop out and enjoy The Grove. We will also have the Village Market <br />which was rained out last weekend. Though it didn't rain, it was supposed to. It is <br />rescheduled for this Saturday from 10-3 before the Grove activities. <br />Coinmittee Reports: <br />Citizen's Advisory - Mrs. Mills = Mr. Williams reported, we had a light agenda. It was held at <br />Parkview Pool. We had a hot topic that came up on the subject of the deer population and deer <br />doing damage in people's backyards and causing traffic concerns. We talked abouf it for about <br />10 minutes and the Committee suggested that we bring this forward to maybe Safety and Service <br />to discuss further in the future. <br />Finance Committee -" Mr. Marquardt - Finance Committee met this evening. They <br />recommended approval of all items on the agenda this evening. <br />Safety and Service - Mr. Marrie - We met two weeks ago. We passed all of the iteins we had <br />oii the agenda. They were sent to Finance. All of the items are on this evening's agenda for <br />passage.
