We will be discussing the next
steps.
Tom Cappello (Engineer) - The bridge project on I-271 over Wilson Mills is complete.
Updating on the Worton Park/Joyce/Hemingway/Robin Circle neighborhood watermain project,
the contractor is in the restoration phase. They were doing the lawns and the aprons for the past
couple weeks. As part of the project, we had to cross Wilson Mills Road to tie the watermain
into Highland Heights on the other side. Now we need to make repairs to the pavement. That
will require some lane closures. We are doing things in a manner to try to minimize those.
There will probably be lane closures for two days at a time. That work should begin the week of
October 30th. There is going to be three phases. There may be some gaps between each phase.
Council President Saponaro asked, are they going to make any repairs to the potholes and things
that have gotten bad on the northbound on-ramp for 271 as a result of the construction? I know
they have gotten worse.
Mr. Cappello replied, I am not aware of them doing any of the repairs.
Mr. Metzung added, we have had complaints about that. I have notified them. They did come
out to fill the holes that were there. I don't know if they are looking to do anything further.
Mr. Cappello stated, it probably won't be done under the bridge contract. We can talk to
ODOT's maintenance team to come out and do some patching over there.
Council President Saponaro stated, if we can alert them and have them do some more permanent
patching. They used that in order to access their staging area. There's a lot of holes and things
that destroy your tires on a regular basis. Thank you.
