BOA Minutes
July 6, 2017
Pg #25
location like that where they can deliver a service to a needy population and that populadon
? will pay for it. Michelle Gorman asked John, how many stories is the structure?

Mr. Marrelli replied, 1'/Z stories and it has to be similar in design to Governor's.
Chief Carcioppolo states, I just wanted to let everyone know I just reviewed this document that
was presented by Mr. Jones `Mayfield Village Fire Department' (attached). I wanted to
articulate that the 3 new hires that we hired in Dec 2013 and the 3 new hires we just hired this
month, currently they're still on training and haven't even really started working shift. These
aren't additional positions to our department. These were exchanges for part-time slots. Our
staffing has remained at 4 to comply with Ohio Administrative Code Occupational Safety and
Health Standard for Fire Departments to meet the 2 in 2 out requirement. The only position that
we've actually added is the Assistant Chief Fire Marshal's position to conduct Fire Prevention
operations. We did add these positions but it's just an exchange of part-time positions for full-
time. Our staffmg hasn't changed.
Michelle Gonman from Governor's said, we thought about what was said within the 15 - 20
minute mile from us, there's a lot of competition. And when you talk about the early onset
dementia at 65, most people that come through my door have 3 years' worth of money at
$5,000/month. I'm assuming you're going to be around -that range. I just don't know that this
a? mazket will be able to support 72 more units. • Mr. Feltman said, I understand you don't want competition.

Michelle Gorman replied, I love competition, bring it on.
IVIr. Feltman said, to make it clear here, most of your building is General Assisted Living, is
that correct?
Michelle Gorman replied, it is, with some foim of dementia.
Mr. Feltman asked, how large is your dementia unit?
Michelle Gorman replied, 23 units.
Mr. Feltman asked, 23 units attached to your building?
Michelle Gorman replied, correct.
Mr. Feltman states, in terms of early onset dementia, you could go to the Alzheimer's
Association, you don't have to take my word for it. That is an epidemic that's coming.
Michelle Gorman said, correct, I agree.
