hands-on. training designed to piovide ieal-time assistance to geneYal and specific
working enviYOnment concerns.
CONCLUSION
Records Imaging Service has over twenty years of experience working with Yecoids management
professionals in all types of organizations, and our experience has taught us what works best in the
development and execution of effective unaging systeins. One of the most impoitant lessons has
been how to unplement document unaging for actual woxk environments while protecting
VILI,AGE resources. Records Imaging Service's proposed training forms the foundation foY a
successful imaging system that can grow to meet the entire the VILI.AGE's currerit and futuxe
document inanageinent needs. Compulink developed its LaserFiche softwaYe solution using the concepts of open and scaleable
architecture, and image and text files aYe stoied as TIFF and ASCII. files. LaserFiche uses an
industry standard ODBC compliant database and a native COM servei structzue to create the most
easily accessible platform foi integYation into native applications available. In addition, the
LaserFiche Integrator's Toolkit enables technical staff to create the perfect match for existing
computer systems. When RecoYds Imaging Service completes the proposed tuYnkey solution, Mayfield Village will have
a document management system that satisfies all of its requixements and can be integrated with its
existing platforms and applications. This scaleable solution will provide a sunple client graphical
user interface, built in scanner and OCR engines for fast full-text search, and a robust and accessible
database. When the VILLAGE is ready to expand its document management system to other
departments, additional scanning and retrieval stations ean sunply be added to the existing system.
The iesultant system will provide the VILLAGE all the tools necessaiy to image and xeti-ieve all of
its documents. LaseYFiche document retrieval and distribution willbe simple and state-of-the-art. It
will provide easily managed access to VILLAGE documents and can be effortlessly expanded as the
Village of Mayfield's needs grow.
M AY I'1SLll V17,LAG1:. ],AS13RFIClIP, DOCUVII3N'1' IhiAGING SYS'1']i\I SOI''1'WAZI;
RECORDS IMAGING SERVICE 2
