Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, January 29, 2018
Page 12
Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. Mr. Williams?
Mr. Williams replied, well, I went back to the meeting minutes and while there was no vote, each
member of Council was asked their opinion or their feedback. The majority said change it to
7:00 p.m. There was no vote. That being said, we should have a vote in order to decide how it
should be if that is necessary. I voted for 7:00 p.m. based on it would be more convenient for the
constituents who want to come to the meeting. As far as ine personally, 7:00 or 8:00, it does not
matter.
Council President Saponaro stated, okay. Mr. Meyers?
Mr. Meyers stated, going back to what Steve just said, all the meetings I have come to for the last
two years have all been at 8:00. I don't have a problem with 8:00, we just thought it would be
easier for the residents to show up at 7:00 rather than 8:00. I can go either way. It does not
matter.
Council President Saponaro stated, fhat being said, if we are suggesting that even if we don't
need to take a vote, if you want to take a vote because we have the meetings that are at 7:00 p.m.
right now for Council meetings. We are not looking to change Caucus meetings, just Council
meetings. Rick Christian
510 SOM I have been coming to these meetings for 20 years. It's always been at 8:00. It made it hard for
me to get here at 7:00 because I have to get home and don't get a chance to eat dinner. I have to
go eat dinner after the Council meeting. Before, I could eat dinner and come to the Council
meeting. Now I can't. That's all I wanted to say.
Council President Saponaro stated, thank you Mr. Christian. So, if we were to take a vote, the
vote would be by motion?
Mr. Coyne replied, you can do it by motion. You can have someone make a motion, a second
and vote on it. You are looking to change the Caucus and Council meeting?
Council President Saponaro replied, no, just Council.
Mr. Coyne stated, just the Council meeting. You can have a motion made by one of your
members. You can't make the motion. Then hold a vote.
Council President Saponaro asked for a motion.
. 1VIotion to hold the Regular Council meeting at 8:00.
Mr. Marquardt, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to hold the Regular Council meeting at
8:00.
