Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, February 19, 2018
Page 10
Council would like to ask any questions of you regarding the concern this group has. Does
anyone have any questions for Mrs. Fabrizio or the SOM Court group? The other aspect is is
that although this is on a Second Read, because these folks have been coming, we are looking to
have this addressed this evening. Without objection to that, or do you have any comments you
would like to add?
Mrs. Fabrizio replied, no. I think we are good.
Nancy Lanese
6612 SOM Court
To address your point, when you are on the sidewalk on the western side of SOIVI Court, the
overpass there - I wouldn't say it is an overpass, but on the sidewalk, I stop there often. You can
view the creek.
Council President Saponaro stated, thank you very much.
Dr. Parker stated; I only wanted to mention that because I certainly feel we should stay away
from their homes. But I have walked through the Metroparks. I know there are areas where they
are not necessarily continuous. I am not saying we need something continuous going from one
end to the other; but if you walk through the Metroparks, they have created a little area that ebbs
into an area and has a little viewing area or something very scenic that takes in the beauty of the
nature that is there. We certainly do not want to encroach. I am not saying we should have
something that requires a bridge and clearing a lot of grounds, but there is a lot going on there. It
was just a thought that if we looked into it, maybe there would be something that wouldn't be
that expensive but we could make it one more area for people to stop on their way and appreciate
the nature and move on. I am sure people who have gone to the Metroparks have seen such
things. If not, that's fine too. I just figured this is the time to throw these things out. If it makes
sense, it does. If it doesn't, that's fine too.
Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. As the group had pointed out to us, they talked
about the connectivity because that was a really big thing we had talked about. Now because we
have the sidewalk and the way the path goes, it connects on three different areas so they have
that aspect of it. But yes, to your point, any opportunity we can to admire the beauty we have in
our Village, we certainly would like to take advantage of that. That's certainly part of the
decisionmaking process as well. Any other comments?
Mr. Marquardt stated, I would suggest we take a motion on this tonight.
Council President Saponaro asked, you want to take a motion on it?
Mr. Marquardt replied, to suspend.
Council President Saponaro stated, yes, exactly, that's what I talked about earlier.
Dr. Parker asked if anyone else in the audience had anything to say.
