Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, March 19, 2018
Page 12
Third Reading of Ordinance No. 2018-05, entitled, "An Ordinance appropriating funds
for current expenses and expenditures for Mayfield Village, Ohio for the period from
January 1, 2018 and ending December 31, 2018 and declaring an emergency." Introduced
by Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole. (Finance Department) (First Reading - 1-29- 18; Second Reading - 2-19-18) Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Meyers, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2018-05.

Council President Saponaro asked, discussion?
Mr. Wynne stated, I just wanted to mention, and I included this in a memo to Council over the
weekend, since Council Caucus there have been several adjustments made to the budget. One
was just to increase the SPAN dues for the year by $7;500 which the Chief will discuss in April I
believe when he brings those dues to the floor for approval. We had $100,000 budgeted for the
Civic Center project at that point just to do a study of what would be involved to make the
building ADA compliant and what would be involved to put an elevator in: We decided to
increase that from $100,000 to $400,000 in the event that towards the end of the year a study is
done and we go to bid and we are in a position to award_the project. If that doesn't happen, that
money will come back into the fund but it's there just in the event we get that far along in the
process. The final one was with the Fire Department roof. We had budgeted $90,000 just to
have the roof reshingled. We decided to leave that $90;000 in there for a study on, we thought
there might be some structural issues with the roof. We are in the process of engaging a
structural engineer to come in and take a look at the cracks in the building to see if there are in
fact any structural issues with the building. We know at a minimum we are going to have to
have it reshingled and reinsulated to bring it up to Code. We increased that $90,000 to $400,000
again just for worst case scenario depending upon what the structural analysis might find and in
the event we might have to do that this year at that cost, we have it provided for and if not, then
that money will come back into the General Fund at the end of the year.
Council President Saponaro stated, thank you Mr. Wynne. Does anybody have any questions
regarding the memo, anything regarding the legislation itself?
There were none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Ordinance Enacted
Third Readine of Resolution No. 2018-07, entitled, "A resolution requesting the
Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer to adjust the amended official certificate of estimated
resources for 2018."
