Ordinance No. 2018-16, entitled,' "An Emergency Ordinance
amending Chapter 176 of the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio regarding
municipal income tax." Introduced by Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole. (Law
Department)
Mr. Wynne stated, this has to do with that one provision in House Bi1149 that RITA told us not
to incorporate in the last legislation passed that had to do with the net profit tax collections.
After the decision was made in the Franklin County lawsuit, they have given us language that
they recommend us implementing into our.Ordinance. They are appealing the Franklin County
decision. The legislation reflects that by only incorporating by reference the House Bill 49
section so that in the event that the appeal is won by the municipalities, it's very easy to reverse
what is being approved. Mr. Coyne, do you think we should pass this on emergency this evening
or do you think we can go three reads on it?
Mr. Coyne replied, you may want to because it is moving. You may want to do it on an
emergency basis tonight.
