Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council .
Monday; June 18;.2018
Page 26
IVIr. Coyne replied, yes.
Council Presiderit Saponaro continued, whoever made the initial motion would withdraw it,
whoever made the second would withdraw the second and then I would then entertain a
motiori to amend the ordinance.
- 1VIr. Coyne stated, it would be a.motion subject to the stated amendment which is read into
the record at that point in time.
Mrs. Mills stated, I made the motion so I will remove my motion to pass.
Council President Saponaro stated, hold on, before you do tliat, Mr. Williams, you wanted
to comment?
Mr. Williams stated, the reason I raised the question about ownersliip is because the only
. reason we're doing this is because the owner wants to do something else with it and there's
no misunderstanding abouf that. That's why he wants it ori the ballot._ So I really don't see
a need to change the wording. Council Presiclent Saponaro asked, are you endorsing tliis or voting, do you believe in this
or-?
Mr. Williarris replied, I believe in the way it's written.
Council President Saponaro stated, okay, so it does not comport with wliat we're charged
to do.. We are not charged to support this rezoning or not. We'ie charged to put it on the
ballot to allow the electorate -
Mr. Williams stated, I get that.
Council President Saponaro stated, well that's not what it says. That's why we would like
to ainend it. What this says is an ordinance revising the zoning map of Mayfield Village,
the zone map, to change it from LJ-1 to a planried residential developinent district. By
amending it, we're saying an ordinance to be. placed on the ballot for the electorate,
including us=
Mr. Williams stated, I get where you are at Council President. I am voicing my opinion
that I thought it was written appropriately.
Council President Saponaro stated, okay. Mrs. Mills, you would like. to rescind your
motion. Does someone want to rescind their second? Who seconded it?
Mr. Williains replied, I did.

Mr. Coyne asked, are you agreeing to rescind your nlotion?.
