Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, January 28, 2019 <br />Page 3 <br />=OP?N POItTION, <br />- For Public Cominent (5-minute 1'unit imposed by Chair) <br />Henry DeBagais <br />6564 Hunt Circle <br />I serve on the Civil Service Commission with Greg Tarkowsky and Mike Bucci. I just wanted to <br />thank Chief Edelman for all of his service on the Police Department and for the community. We have <br />had a lot of issues where we needed the Chief to come in and give us his opinion and let us know <br />how tliis would effect his department and the community. He has been a great asset. I would just <br />like to congratulate him and wish him well. Thank you very much. <br />_ Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />Mary Betsa (C'ouncil) - Registrafion is now open for the Loca1 Government Official's <br />Conference. Anyone who wishes to attend, let me know. It is March 7t' and 8?' in Columbus. <br />The State Auditor's office representatives are presenters. There are a number of seminars that <br />you can choose from and attend. It is very fun-fi.lled and educational. <br />. Records Commission - We met last week. The schedules and policy are being revised. <br />Ron Wynne (Finance) - Our 2018 audit with our auditors started last week. It will be ongoing <br />for the next several weeks. I will keep you posted as it progresses. We should look at having the <br />audit report filed with the State sometime in the early part of March. <br />Shane McAvinew (Parks and Recreation) <br />. Commission on Aging - The next meeting is scheduled for March 21 St at 11:00 a.m. at <br />the Community Room. <br />. Parls ancl Recreation - We will have a concert in Reserve Hall that we are sponsoring. <br />Juan Rivero from the Cleveland Institute of Music will be doing a harp performance next <br />Tuesday. It is a free concert. We have worked with the Cleveland Institute of Music for a <br />number of years now. They do a wonderful job. <br />. Senior Services - If you hear of any snow removal concerns, remind residents to call <br />Donna so that she can discuss them and try to come to a resolution. Over 120 seniors <br />attended a trip preview on January 18th with a great presentation from our Fire Chief <br />Carcioppolo. Card making will be held on February Sth. A special free session on tips for <br />interior decorating will be held on February 15th. The famous Foot Clinic will be held on <br />FeUruary 22°d at Civic Hall. The cost is $25.00. <br />Council President Saponaro asked, regarding snow removal, if there is an issue that is after hours <br />or on the weekend, who should the resident contact if they can't get a hold of the provider. Is <br />there a number? <br />Mr. McAvinew replied, I don't have a clear answer for that.
