Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, April 15, 2019 <br />Page 6 <br />and upcoming capital projects. As always, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and we <br />hope to see you there. <br />- Administration of Oath of Office to Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshal Michael J. Libens <br />Mayor Bodnar turned to Chief Carcioppolo for his comments. <br />Chief Carcioppolo stated, I received an e-mail from Fire Chief Marc Neumann of the City of <br />Richmond Heights where Mr. Libens worked. I would like to read it into the record. <br />Mayor Bodnar, Council President Saponaro, Members of Council and <br />distinguished guests, <br />I am sorry that I could not be present at the Council meeting this evening and <br />thank you for allowing Fire Chief Carcioppolo to read my comments about <br />Assistant Chief Michael Libens. First and foremost, congratulations for the <br />selection of Michael Libens as your new Assistant Fire Chief. I have had the <br />privilege of serving with Chief Libens for the past seven years and can <br />confidently say that he is a person of integrity and impeccable character. He is a <br />Chief Officer who leads by example continuously seeking to improve the <br />community, the fire service, and himself. Mike is a career -long student of the fire <br />service who is knowledgeable in fire dynamics, building construction and <br />research. Chief Libens is well credentialed having earned an Associate Degree in <br />Fire Science from Lakeland Community College, a Bachelor's Degree from Kent <br />State University, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Kent State <br />University. Chief Libens is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive <br />Fire Officer Program and is a published author at the National Fire Academy's <br />Learning Resource Center in Emmetsburg, MD. Throughout the years, Chief <br />Libens has taken on many projects and responsibilities to make Richmond <br />Heights a safer community for our residents and for our firefighters. I know that <br />he will make a positive difference in the community of Mayfield Village too. <br />Chief Libens, congratulations on your promotion.' It has been an honor serving <br />with you and on behalf of Richmond Heights -we are all very proud of you. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Marc Neumann, Fire Chief -City of Richmond Heights. <br />Mayor Bodnar invited Mr. Libens up to the table to be sworn in. Mr. Libens' father also joined <br />his son for the pinning ceremony. <br />Mayor Bodnar administered the Oath of Office to Michael Libens as Assistant Fire Chief/Fire <br />Marshal for Mayfield Village. <br />
