It was a successful event with a great <br />turnout. The pancakes and sausage were impeccably delicious. <br />Council was given an award as a thank you for our participation in the CEVEC program and <br />especially for our giving them the use of our CEVEC house which they use to teach life skills <br />like washing dishes, cooking. household chores and things like that. I will pass around the <br />plaque we were awarded. This plaque is a really a big thank you and a personal thank you to <br />Council. I want to thank you Council President Saponaro and all of the members of Council who <br />realized how important the Mayfield system of education is and especially you realize how <br />important it is to support CEVEC and programs like thig, so thank you very much. <br />Okay now to what's actually on the agenda. We all know that we are very fortunate to have <br />Progressive Insurance Company's headquarters right here in Mayfield Village. We are and <br />Progressive are both fortunate to have Tricia Griffith at the helm. Tricia is an exceptionally <br />experienced skilled personable and visionary leader and so tonight I have a Proclamation <br />congratulating Chief Executive Officer Tricia Griffith for being named Fortune Magazine's 2018 <br />Businessperson of the Year. As you might imagine, Tricia's schedule is pretty busy so Kevin <br />McGrath who is the Director of Real Estate Development at Progressive and main liaison here at <br />the Village will accept this for Tricia. <br />Proclamation of Appreciation, "Congratulating Progressive Chief Executive Officer <br />Tricia Griffith for being named Fortune Magazine's 2018 Businessperson of the Year." <br />WHEREAS, three decades ago, Tricia Griffith began her career with Progressive Insurance as a <br />claims representative and, after serving in a variety of roles, became Progressive's Chief <br />Executive Officer in 2016; and <br />WHEREAS, under the leadership of Tricia Griffith, Progressive has achieved sales growth that <br />tops both Apple and Microsoft, has increased stock values by nearly 50% over the past 12 <br />months, and has more than doubled the company's profits; and <br />WHEREAS, Progressive's decision to move its headquarters to Mayfield Village in 1974 <br />dramatically changed the trajectory of the Village's development as well as that of surrounding <br />communities: and <br />
