Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, December 16, 2019 <br />Page 6 <br />Shane McAvinew (Parks and Recreation) — <br />Commission on Aging — Will meet next on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. <br />Senior Services — 50 seniors went on a Christmas trip on December 4`h. 120 seniors <br />have registered for the trip preview program on January 201h. We are filled. A Lunch N <br />Movie will be held with CPA and Governor's Village coming up. <br />Parks and Recreation — The Board met on November 20`h. The Entertainment <br />Committee met and reviewed the entertainment for 2020 and all of the Special Events <br />scheduled. Activities Committee met and evaluated the Halloween Party and up and <br />coming parties. Thank you for everyone who has come out and helped volunteer with <br />those parties from the Santa Party down to the Christmas Tree Lighting. This Sunday the <br />22nd at 7:00 p.m. is the Menorah Lighting at the Community Room. The Youth and <br />Family Committee did not meet. The next Parks Board meeting will be on Wednesday, <br />January 15`h at 6:30 with Entertainment Committee, Activities Committee, Youth and <br />Family Committee meeting. The full Board will meet at 7:00 p.m. <br />I hope everybody has a very blessed and wonderful Holiday season. Joe, I enjoyed working with <br />you for the short time. Dr. Parker, the same thing. I have enjoyed the time spent with you and <br />hopefully will still see you guys at the great events we have in the Village. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, very good. Thank you. <br />Dr Parker stated, thank you. <br />Chief Paul Matias (Police) — Just one quick item. If you saw our Facebook page, we had our <br />No -Shave November. It was a pretty big success. We raised over $1,000 that we donated to <br />Hillcrest Children's Pediatrics. Everybody's back to their clean-shaven selves now, but again it <br />was a great program. That's all I have Council President. Thank you. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. <br />Doug Metzung (Service Department) — Thank you Council President. First off, Happy <br />Holidays to everyone. I want to thank yourself for your support throughout the years, Dr. Parker, <br />Dr. Parker and I go back to the original building across the street. We go way back. Thank you <br />for all of your support over the years. Leaf season has officially come to an end. Unofficially, as <br />long as we have the opportunity and leaves come out, we will grab them this year because we <br />will not be doing so in the Spring. That concludes my report. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. <br />Committee Reports: <br />Citizens Advisory Committee (Patsy Mi Our last meeting was November 25`h. Mr. <br />Cappello was one of our speakers. He gave us an update on the different projects that <br />were done like the street repairs on Wilson Mills, etc., storm relief projects, the Grove <br />enhancements and the new park at the pool. Mr. Marquart also gave us an update of the <br />new businesses in the area. <br />
