Minutes of the Inauguration of Elected Officials
And Special/Organizational Meeting of Council
Monday, January 6, 2020
Page 2
of much needed bail reforms among other things. Since taking office in 2018, Judge Coletta has
made significant strides in modernizing our local Court and bringing it into the 21s' Century. In
their wise, fair, impartial administration of justice and to improve our community, Judge Russo
and Judge Coletta demonstrate that St. Luke's rule of law is alive and well here. Judges, we
thank you both for leading by example and we thank you for giving of your time to be with us
tonight.
Also, with us tonight is our former Mayor Bruce Rinker who held the torch here for nearly 23
years and his vision, labor and leadership far outweighed any compensation we could ever give
him. Mayor Rinker had the courage to realize his dreams of the Grove Ampitheatre, the new
Police Station and new Fire Station and the relocation of a branch of the Cuyahoga Library
within the Village. Bruce literally forged a new trail here now aptly named the Rinker
Greenway. Mayor Rinker, thank you for your vision and your leadership and for making
Mayfield Village better while maintaining a quiet community character.
And now I would ask Judge Russo to come forward and administer my oath and I would also ask
that my husband Paul please join me.
Oath of Office Administered to Mayor Brenda -T.
