Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council Monday, November 15, 2021 Page 3 Department Head Reports: Shane McAvinew (Parks & Recreation) Senior Services — A couple of reminders. If you haven't signed up for your holiday ham, holiday turkey or holiday turkey breast, we are still taking orders from Mayfield Village residents. With regard to the Senior Snow Plow program, we have a lot of opt -outs for the program. You have until the end of the year. We are still receiving opt -ins. They are starting to slow down. There is one contractor that informed residents that they are no longer providing that service separately to them this year outside of our program. So, there is an increase in residents opting into the program. Opt -ins were supposed to have a deadline of the beginning of October, but in consideration of the contractor not providing separate service, we are still taking applications to make sure they have someone to provide their snow plowing. We do have larger numbers this year. Parks and Recreation — As Council President said, we will have our Santa float throughout Mayfield Village on December 4th followed by an evening with the Tree Lighting. On November 2g1h we will have the Menorah Lighting at the Community Room. Also, coming up in Reserve Hall starting this Friday, November 19th at 7:00 the Fairmount Center for the Arts Youth Theater presents Honk. They will also present on November 20th at 2:00 and November 21st at 2:00. The young people are in the building right now practicing. It is a wonderful group that we have worked with for many many years. So, if you are looking for something to do this weekend, I encourage you to check out Honk by the Fairmount Center for the Arts. Committee Reports Volunteer Firefighters' Dependent's Fund Board - Designation of 2 members of the legislative authority Mrs. Betsa stated, yes, Council President. The two members of the Board elected by the Fire Department are Chief Carcioppolo and Mike Girbino. We need two members of the Board recommended and elected by Council for a one-year term. Following that, they will need to select a fifth member who is a resident. Council President Schutt stated, thank you Mrs. Betsa. Are there any recommendations for the two Council representatives? Mr. Williams asked, do you accept volunteers? Council President Schutt replied, yes.
