Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, September 20, 2021
Page 2
time to just thank them publicly on the record for their services to our community. They were
instrumental in helping us to save lives this summer. We appreciate all that they have done for us.
Another thing is I just wanted to give a little report on Cruise Night. I know that Danielle is here
and she will probably give another recap, but it was held last Saturday night. Normally it's held
in June. We moved it to September. It was a beautiful evening. It was very well -attended. I got
a lot of compliments on the evening. I also got compliments on how well the Village looked the
following Sunday morning. You could not tell that a Cruise Night had occurred the night before.
Thanks go out to Shane and Danielle and Sean and especially all the Recreation Department
volunteers who were instrumental in making it a great night. Also, to Scott Sipos and all of the
Service Department and Chief Matias and the Police Department, Chief Carcioppolo and the Fire
Department who were there to aid in our safety on Saturday night. It took a Village, but we ended
up with a really great Cruise Night. Thank you very much. That's all I have for tonight.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mayor Bodnar.
Comments From Council President Schutt
Although they have left, I would like to give a special thank you to State Representative Phil Robinson
and his team of Katy Dakota and Mia for the information on the Budget Planning, Educational and
Legislative updates. It was very informative.
I would like to say Happy Birthday to Councilwoman Jen Jurcisek. Her birthday is today. Also, Happy
Birthday today- to our Finance Director, Mr. Ron Wynne. Happy Birthday as well.
I would also just like to echo Mayor Bodnar's comments about Cruise Night. It was a huge success.
As she said, you couldn't even tell we had an event that large. I believe that was the largest Cruise
Night that we have had in Mayfield Village probably ever from what I have seen. It was a fantastic
event. Special shout out to our Parks and Ree Department as Mayor Bodnar said as well, and to our
Service Department and Police and Fire for keeping everybody safe as well. Thank you everyone for
that. That's all I have for tonight.
Open Portion — For Public Comment (5 -minute limit imposed by Chair)
Mary Murphy
816 Hardwood Court
I am going to pass these out as I am talking. I took this picture in Acacia Reservation over in Lyndhurst
by the Metroparks. I thought it was a very sharp sign. I am a little concerned about the amount of
strollers and dog walkers and residents in the different developments in the Village. There are a lot of
people out and about. I think this is a very sharp sign. You might consider it. I don't know what
Committee would discuss this but maybe you could consider something like this for Mayfield Village.
