Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, April 19, 2021
Page 4
maintain, including Parkview Pool and Playground, Wiley Park and Pavilion, a 25 -acre
wetlands park, three softball fields, two soccer fields, the Bruce G. Rinker Greenway Trail,
and The Grove Amphitheatre.
WHEREAS, Doug Metzung has served the community of Mayfield Village with exceptional
passion and commitment for over 25 years. Under his leadership, the streets and sidewalks of
Mayfield Village are always clear of snow, the grass is always cut, the sports fields are pristine,
and special events are cleaned up so quickly that no one can tell thousands of people attended
Cruise Night or July 4th Fireworks.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT:
Service Director Douglas Metzung is hereby recognized and congratulated for
25 years of dedicated and exceptional service to Mayfield Village On behalf
of residents, business owners, department heads and staff, we wish him many_
years of health and happiness with his wife LeeAnn their three lovely
daughters, Katie, Lindsey and Molly, and the new love of his life grandson
Lincoln Douglas. We suspect that some rounds of golf and a beer or two are
in his future and we hope that he will return to share a glass with us Cheers
Doug!
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2021-14.
Council President Schutt asked, discussion?
There was none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Resolution Adopted
Mayor Bodnar stated, thank you. Now as we have bid a fond farewell to Doug, it is time to
welcome in our new Service Director, Mr. Scott Sipos. As I believe I mentioned before at Caucus
last time, Scott is very well qualified, but we also had a field of extremely well-qualified applicants.
We chose the 10 most qualified, Scott being among them. As I said to Scott when I made him the
offer, I think I set the bar a little bit higher for members of our own Service Department. Scott
had the first interview and he set the gold standard. I was very honored and pleased to make the
offer to him and very happy that Scott accepted. I am asking Council tonight for a motion to
confirm and approve the appointment of Mr. Scott Sipos as our Service Director.
