Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, February 21, 2022
Page 4
Finance — Mr. Wynne — Yes, just two items I wanted to mention. We just received official
notification from the State of Ohio that they approved the Civic Center Fund transfer into the
General Fund. We will be recording that in the next month or so.
Also, at the last Council Caucus, we were talking about the budget. We brought up the
conversation about how we put together a five-year Capital Budget that lays out certain items. I
brought copies with me in case anyone from Council would like a copy at the end of the meeting.
End of report.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. Wynne.
Parks and Recreation — Mr. McAvinew — I have our community brochure for all of the special
events by Parks and Recreation for Mayfield Village. It is getting mailed out next week. Also, it
is on Facebook. I e-mailed it out to a lot of people today. Once you click on it, it's a digital version
on-line for you to scroll through and check out the events.
I too would like to wish Diane a Happy Birthday. I appreciate you as a co-worker. I appreciate
you as a friend. It's been lovely working with you. Happy Birthday. Happy 720 months. It's
like when we were kids and we were 18 months old, 20 months old. Happy Birthday. I hope you
had a great day and a better evening. That's all.
Ms. Wolgamuth stated, thank you.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. McAvinew.
Police Department — Chief Matias — Thank you Council President. I have no report for tonight.
I just have one thing on the agenda that I can address when we get to that.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Chief.
Service Department — Mr. Sipos — Thank you, Council President. I just have one thing on the
agenda. It's in your packets. The LED Street Lighting Agreement. I am asking to enter into
Option 3 where we don't get charged for replacing the lights with LED's. The one thing I would
like to add is, Councilman Murphy, you had a question about how long the bulbs last. I got that
answer for you. The current high pressure sodium bulbs are rated at 24,000 hours. Over the life
expectancy of that, they lose 30% of their lumin, the brightness. They lose that relatively quickly
whereas LED fixtures are rated at 25,000 hours. They will lose 30% of their brightness but it will
take over a longer period of time, if that answers your question. Does anybody else have any
questions?
There were none.
All right. End of report. Thank you.
16
