Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />November 21, 2022 <br />Page 3 <br />Open Portion — For Public Comment (5 -minute limit) <br />Council President Schutt stated, if anyone wishes to speak, please come up to the podium and <br />state your name and address for the record. <br />There were no comments. <br />Department Head Reports: <br />Diane Wolgamuth (Administration) — Thank you, Council President. Just reporting on <br />Citizen's Advisory. Citizen's Advisory met on October 24th at the Historical House. Joan <br />Gottschling, the President of the Historical Society was our speaker. We are meeting next <br />Monday, November 28th at 7:00 p.m. here in this room. Chief Paul Matias will be providing <br />information on CivicReady, our new emergency notification system. Thank you. <br />Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Ms. Wolgamuth. <br />Daniel Russell (Building) — Thank you, Council President. I will be reporting on the past BZA <br />and ARB meetings. The first one was on October 18th. We had two proposals for BZA. Both <br />proposals were approved, one for a 6" stockade fence and a front facing garage and side yard <br />setback and request to widen their driveway for a new house. The second meeting was on <br />November 10th, ARB. We had three proposals, two of which were tabled for signage for <br />Hopebridge Therapy. The third meeting was on November 15th for BZA. We had two proposals, <br />the first proposal was for a sign variances, two of which were denied and one approved and the <br />second proposal was for the widening of a driveway turnaround which was approved. That's all <br />I have. <br />Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. Russell. <br />Mary Betsa (Council) — I attended the Annual Meeting of NOPEC. I will be providing an <br />update to Council for their packets. Of importance was an update on the situation with the <br />electric and the hopeful no -situation with the gas. <br />Shane McAvinew (Parks and Recreation) — Thank you, Council President. The Parks Board <br />met last Thursday at 7:00 p.m. We reviewed entertainment and special events going on in 2023 <br />from Cruise Night to Fourth of July to the Concert Series at both the Grove and Gazebo. We also <br />discussed the 2023 Parkview Pool rates. We reviewed the slight changes we have going for some <br />of those items. We also talked about a new event we will be partnering with the Cuyahoga <br />County Library at Mayfield Village. It's a fun little event. I met with them down there. We will <br />have a Shamrock Hunt which will be for two weeks we will have hidden spots on the trail with <br />riddles that families can go down and find the riddle and solve it and possibly win a pool pass or <br />a couple of different little items. <br />
