RESOLUTION NO. 2022-47 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 2022-10 AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH GREVE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE <br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 2022 POLICE VEHICLE AND THREE (3) 2023 <br />POLICE VEHICLES IN THE AMOUNT OF $225,413.00 THROUGH THE STATE OF <br />OHIO'S DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES (DAS) <br />COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village Council passed Resolution 2022-10 authorizing the <br />purchase of four (4) 2022 Police Vehicles from Greve Chrysler Dodge of Van Wert in the amount <br />of $211,128.00 under the State of Ohio's Department of Administrative Services (DAS) <br />Cooperative Purchasing Program; and <br />WHEREAS, due to production issues and vehicle availability, the manufacturer canceled <br />the order for three (3) of the 2022 vehicles which will be replaced with 2023 police vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, due to the new pricing for 2023 police vehicles, the cost of the purchase for <br />CW the four (4) new police vehicles has increased from $211,128.00 to $225,413.00; and <br />WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has advised that the department is in need of replacing <br />patrol units which are approaching the end of their usable life and are ready to be cycled out of <br />service; and <br />WHEREAS, the Chief of Police wishes to utilize the State of Ohio's Department of <br />Administrative Services (DAS) Cooperative Purchasing Program, which does not require <br />competitive bidding pursuant to State law to purchase the four (4) vehicles to replace the old <br />vehicles which will be sold once the transfer is complete; and <br />WHEREAS, upon receipt of the updated quote from Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Van <br />Wert, the Chief of Police has recommended the purchase of one (1) 2022 Dodge Charger and three <br />(3) 2023 Dodge Chargers from Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Van Wert in the amount of <br />$225,413.00 which includes additional equipment upgrades and the cost of the changeover. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village hereby approves and authorizes an <br />expenditure in the amount of $225,413.00 to Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Van Wert for the <br />purchase of four (4) police vehicles, including additional equipment upgrades and the cost of the <br />changeover. This expenditure shall be in the place of that expenditure previously authorized by <br />Resolution 2022-10. <br />
