Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council Monday, August 21, 2023 Page 14 Ms. Calta stated, I'm just the lawyer in the room, but unfortunately I have had to deal with too many stormwater problems through all of the communities I have represented. Are you able to re- route that stream so it is farther west so the floodplain is not as close to the residences there? Can you re-route it where the house was and then your floodplain is going to be more central through that area as opposed to where it is? Mr. Cappello replied, by Joe Fink's house at 970 Worton, the creek actually went really close to his house as shown there. When we did the channel work and excavation for the floodplain, the angle moved the channel further to the west. A lot of this issue again is the fact that that creek is so flat. As part of this change order, we are going to go from the North Woodlane culvert and run half a percent grading all the way to Worton. That one section up until about the middle of 950 is very flat there. I am getting some grade in and widen the channel and we should be able to move more water and reduce the floodplain, but you will still get overbank flooding. It won't be as wide. Mr. Murphy asked, Phase II is hoping to decrease the level of the water by 1 foot which would lessen the — Mr. Cappello stated, when you say Phase II? Mr. Murphy stated, Phase II that's starting right after Labor Day. Mr. Cappello stated, Phase II for me is three culverts to the south. Anyway, yes, that's going to help us drop the water surface by approximately one foot. Mr. Murphy asked, which would lessen the reach? Mr. Cappello replied, yes. Mr. Blair stated, what I am saying overall is that we are working with the Village to try and solve these issues. We are working on the buildings and roadways. I am meeting with Tom tomorrow. We are going to be in continued communications to try to relieve this flooding. Ms. Calta asked, getting the information from the residents to you, it sounds like there's a good plan for that, do you do modeling with that information? Mr. Blair replied, we have a data management group. With all these models we created with the master plans, what we are trying to do is basically treat those as living documents so we do do periodic updates with those so with that information, that would help us out. Mr. Williams asked, what's the e-mail address? Mr. Blair replied, it's actually on your handouts. I can give you mine as well so you have a way to get those photos over to us.
