Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, December 18, 2023
Page 3
There were none.
Department Head Reports:
Dan Russell (Building) — Thank you Council President. I only have one item to report on. ARB
met on December 14th. We received one application for an addition on a house. That was
Authorized unanimously. We also had a review and discussion with Diane Wolgamuth and Shane
McAvinew on the restrooms at the Grove. It seemed like the Board was in favor.
Council President Schutt asked, any questions?
There were none.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you Mr. Russell.
Shane McAvinew (Parks and Recreation) - Thank you Council President. Our next meeting
for the Parks Board is in January. We finished up another Holiday Decorating Contest. Special
thanks to our super Judges. We had three Judges this year. They did a phenomenal job. This year
we had the Best of Show Winner that we will announce tomorrow but tonight we will let you
know. The Best of Show was the Simcic family on Highland Road. People's Choice Awards was
the Crawford family. The Wunsch family won most "Village". The Griswold Award was the
Boyle family. The best business was Crooked River Fitness. The best decorated neighborhood
was Aintree North. We had about 35 people participate this year. The decorations were
outstanding. Outside of that, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a wonderful
New Year. That's all I have.
Council President Schutt asked, any questions?
There were none.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. McAvinew. Are there any other Department Head
reports this evening?
There were none.
OLD BUSINESS
• Second Reading of Ordinance 2023-12 (Amended 11/30/23), entitled, "An ordinance
amending certain Codified Ordinances relating to Certified Mail notification to also
permit Express Mail and other forms of delivery with a signed receipt or proof of
delivery." Introduced by Mayor Bodnar. (Administration) (First Reading — October 16,
2023) (Second Reading — November 20, 2023)
