Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, May 20, 2024
Page 2
Special Council Meeting — May 6, 2024
Mrs. Jurcisek, seconded by Mr. Meyers, made a motion to approve the minutes of the Special
Council Meeting of May 6, 2024 as written.
Council President Schutt asked, any discussion?
There was none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carries
NAYS: None Minutes of May 6, 2024
Meeting Approved as Written
Comments From Mayor Bodnar
Thank you Council President. I have several things tonight. First, on behalf of the Mayfield
Village community, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Euclid Police
Officer Jacob Derbin and to the entire Euclid community. Chief, I know you are going to have
comments on this later, but I just wanted to say that we share in the sorrow of this very tragic loss
and our hearts are broken that this daring peace officer passed away so selflessly.
Second, I would like to invite everyone to our Memorial Day services this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at
Whitehaven Cemetery. It is a good way to invite your families out and to spend at least part of the
weekend honoring those thousands of men and women who gave their lives in service to our
country.
I would like to thank Shane and Danielle and Samantha on the wonderful Mother's Day breakfast.
That, accompanied with the wonderful bake sale and craft sale made for a very wonderful start to
Mother's Day for lots of us. Thank you for that.
We are looking forward to lots of great bands this summer starting with Cruise Night.
Another thank you goes out to our Council Clerk Mary Beth Betsa and the whole team who put
together and worked on Shred Day this past Saturday. With all of the fraud that goes on, this is a
very valuable service provided. It is appreciated. Thank you.
I received an airport survey from the Airport Administration of Cleveland -Hopkins Airport today.
They are asking me to complete a survey on whether and how Cleveland -Hopkins serves or doesn't
serve the needs of our community. If anyone has any constructive comments on that, please e-
mail me and I will try and incorporate those comments into my responses to the survey.
Finally, I will have a few comments later on in the program and I will reserve my comments for
when those items come up. Thank you.
