Petty Officer Federico's professionalism and devotion to duty reflected great credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service. After serving his time in the Navy, Firefighter Federico was Honorably Discharged and continued his career path of becoming a Firefighter/Paramedic. Upon completion of his training Firefighter/Paramedic Federico worked at Willoughby Fire Department part time, and was eventually hired Full time in the Euclid Fire Department. In addition to his Firefighter/Paramedic duties, Firefighter Federico also served on the regional HAZMAT team. Jeff left Euclid Fire Department to take a position at Mayfield Village Fire Department in 2020, Jeff still serves on the regional HAZMAT team. I read this to you all as a testament of Firefighter Federico's willingness to serve the public. With the announcement of Assistant Chief Libens' retirement, Jeff immediately showed readiness and commitment to the challenge of assuming this critical role. While the task of training and assuming this role is daunting, with the help of Assistant Chief Libens and Jeff and I working together as a team I am confident that Jeff will adjust well to this responsibility as he has all other roles as a public servant. Congratulations Assistant Fire Chief Federico. Mayor Bodnar stated, thank you, Chief Carcioppolo. Mr. Federico, I am grateful for your service to Mayfield Village. It is a testament to your service that you are here tonight supported by so many members of your department. I am also very honored to administer to you the oath of office tonight for your new position. We all know you have some very big shoes to fill, but I am sure you are going to do a good job. So, if you could come up to the center with your family and I will administer the oath of office to you. Mayor Bodnar asked Mrs. Federico to place Mr. Federico's pin on him. Comments From Council President Schutt Thank you Mayor Bodnar. As both Chief Carcioppolo and Mayor mentioned, congratulations Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshall. Mr. Federico, I am sure you will do an outstanding job. Our next Council Caucus meeting is scheduled for July I". The next Regular Meeting of Council is July 15`h. Both meetings are in this room at 7:00 p.m. I hope all the fathers enjoyed their Father's Day yesterday.
