Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, September 23, 2024
Page 2
Special Meeting of Council — September 9, 2024
Mrs. Jurcisek, seconded by Mr. Arndt, made a motion to approve the minutes of the Special
Meeting of Council of September 9, 2024 as written.
Council President Schutt asked, any discussion?
There was none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Comments From Mayor Bodnar
Motion Carries
Minutes of September 9, 2024
Special Meeting Approved as Written
Thank you, Council President. I've got a handful of things this evening. First of all, I wanted to
point out to Council that we are going to be changing one of our Community Room policies
beginning in October. In the past we had it so that residents could sponsor someone from outside
of the Village. We are changing that so that the resident, himself or herself, has to sign the contract.
At the end of the day you can still sponsor a friend or relative of the resident, but the resident will
be signing on the dotted line and paying the deposit and they need to be there for the entire time
of the rental. We are hoping that helps. We have had some issues going on so we are hoping that
helps out a little bit.
Also, I wanted to thank everyone for a great Volunteer Appreciation Night, especially Diane who
just did another great job of putting together our Western Theme Party. I think you all got your
Wanted posters. Many of you were able to stop by. I know the residents and volunteers really
appreciate that. This year we honored Audrey Schmidt and Ralph Tarsitano who do a great deal
of volunteering for our seniors. We honored John Michalko, who by the way asked to be excused
tonight because he and Henrietta are leaving for out of town very early in the morning tomorrow.
Last but not least we honored our very own Bill Marquardt who has been serving and guiding
Mayfield Village for over 40 years. It was a very special night. Thanks to Diane and everyone
who participated and made it a lot of fun.
I also want to thank everyone who attended the Canon Medical Academy USA's open house last
week. I know a lot of members of Council and the Administration were able to go on Thursday. I
went the day before when they had their Grand Opening. We are very fortunate in Mayfield Village
to have some great partners and Canon is one of them. I know they appreciate seeing all of us and
having our support.
A couple of things coming up, October 24`" is the Chili Cook -Off. It's a Thursday evening. It's
in Lyndhurst this year. If you are able to go that night, even if you could just stop by for an hour,
just let Diane know and we will get you great tickets. Good seats we promise.
