Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, September 23, 2024
Page 3
October 151n at the new Mayfield Heights Community Center is the State of the Cities address with
the Mayfield Area Chamber of Commerce. I will be out of town so John Marquart will be there
and he will be delivering the State of the City address for Mayfield Village. That is from 11:30-
1:00.
That's all I have. Thank you.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mayor Bodnar.
Comments From Council President Schutt
I don't have much this evening. I just wanted to say Happy Belated Birthday to Councilwoman
Jennifer Jurcisek. Her birthday was on the 20tn
Just a reminder that our October Caucus meeting is on Monday, October 7tn. The Regular Meeting
of Council is scheduled for Monday, October 21 St
Open Portion — For Public Comment (5-minute limit imposed by Chair)
Council President Schutt stated, if anyone wishes to speak, please come up to the podium and state
your name and address for the record.
There were none.
Department Head Reports:
Diane Wolgamuth (Administration) — Reporting for Citizen's Advisory, they will be meeting
next Monday, September 30tn at 7:00 p.m. in this room. On the agenda is an update on Kindland
activities and we are having a presentation by some representatives from the CERT team who are
going to tell us kind of what they do and try to solicit maybe some more volunteers and to give us
information on disaster preparedness.
The next item for Council is I just wanted to alert you that the work on this building is going very
well. The windows are almost done. The exterior doors will be done next week. But as they were
digging to put in the foundation for the ADA ramp to serve Reserve Hall, they ran into an old fuel
tank and some electrical and gas lines. We don't have plans for this building so no one knew that
those were there. These are on Village property. They are getting quotes to remove that tank and
to move these lines. It's going to cause some disruption to that driveway so a portion of that will
have to be replaced. If you remember, we did a contingency amount of $41,000. We have most
of that still intact so they are hopeful that the numbers will come in and it will cover it. If it doesn't
I would have to come back to Council and we may have to schedule a Special Meeting because
we don't want to delay moving forward with the project.
That's all I have. I would be happy to answer any questions.
