Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Tuesday, March 18, 2025
Page 6
such a disparity in the two quotes, I am going to just move forward with ProDoor which is $7,900
and under the spending limit. We took it off the agenda.
Council President Schutt asked, any questions?
There were none.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Chief. Are there any other Department Head reports
this evening?
Chief Carcioppolo (Fire Department) — I just wanted to thank my department members for
showing up this evening. I also wanted to say a little bit about Benjamin. He just took the regional
test that they gave in December. This was afresh list that we went through. He was the highest
raw test score on the entire test. He scored #1, especially with his extra credit, 8 years in the
Marine Reserves. He worked at Conneaut Fire Department for the last 5 years. During our
interview process, he had no problems. This is a testament to the Civil Service process that we
were able to extend him a position like this. He is grateful to be here. Even during his interview
he was pretty humble. He didn't tell us, but his father who was here is the Chief of Ashtabula City
Fire Department so he is a second generation firefighter which has some historic value. But I
wanted to thank my guys. I am happy they were all here to support each other. I am proud of all
of them.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Chief Carcioppolo. Are there any other Department
Head reports this evening?
Mr. Coyne stated, one comment on Resolution 2025-16. It's a corrective resolution for the
appointment of Councilman Murphy and Councilwoman Jurcisek to the CRA Housing Council.
It's a two year, not a three year appointment, so it's to December of 2027. The prior action was to
December of 2028.
Council President Schutt asked, any other department head reports this evening?
There were none.
OLD BUSINESS
• Third Reading of Ordinance No. 2025-01, entitled, "An ordinance appropriating funds
for current expenses and expenditures of Mayfield Village, Ohio for the period from
January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025."
