Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, June 16, 2025
Page 2
Special Council Medina— June 2, 2025
Mr. Arndt, seconded by Mr. Meyers, made a motion to approve the minutes of the Special Council
Meeting of June 2, 2025 as written.
Council President Schutt asked, any discussion?
There was none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carries
NAYS: None Minutes of June 2, 2025
Meeting Approved as Written
Comments From Mayor Bodnar
Thank you Council President. I have got a couple of things I wanted to mention tonight. First of
all, I want to wish our Council President a very Happy Birthday. Thank you for working on your
birthday. Is this your 8t" year of service to this community?
Council President Schutt replied, yes.
Mayor Bodnar continued, so you know the workings of this place pretty well and you are still here.
Thank you for that.
Also, I wanted to mention that I received some thank you notes. One of them was a thank you
note for contributing to the Mayfield After Prom. I will pass that around for everyone to look at.
We received two thank you notes from two students who were recipients of the Hudacko
Scholarship. I'll pass those around two. One of them is from Anu Ravi and the other one is from
Mrs. Jurcisek' s son, Nathan Jurcisek. It's wonderful to read these. You can tell they are grateful.
But you can also tell by how well written they are that they got a great education at Mayfield.
I wanted to thank everyone, particularly Shane McAvinew for a wonderful Cruise Night. The
weather was crazy at the beginning of the day. One of the bands cancelled out early in the morning
and posted on Facebook that the event was cancelled. Shane really scrambled to get that corrected
and was able to secure a new band to play at Musca Plaza. Danielle wasn't able to help out at
Cruise Night so Shane was doing the work of two people. Thank you for that. I also wanted to
thank our Police Department. We had all of our police officers there doing a great job. The Police
Department is a huge part of Cruise Night because people really enjoy being able to see you there
and interact with you. Thank you for that. Last but not least, the Service Department has a huge
presence at Cruise Night. They did a wonderful job keeping everything clean and in order. Thank
you for that. Also, thanks to all our volunteers who were selling t-shirts and our CERT volunteers.
It was just really a lovely evening after a pretty rough start to the day. Things turned out great and
that had to do with all of the people who were working on it.
