Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, June 16, 2025
Page 5
businesses, the volunteers, the Park Board and the residents, it just wouldn't have been possible.
I found it very very heart whelming that when people found out I didn't have a band, they all were
on search for a band. They said, I was looking all morning for a band for you. This person, this
person. Not just residents, but people who knew I needed help. Once again, without the dedication
and support of the people in this community, it just wouldn't be possible. Thank you to everyone.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. McAvinew.
Frank Stupczy (Service Department) — Thank you Council President. I have a little report on
our mulch delivery program which we are wrapping up. As everyone knows, we collect leaves in
the Fall from the curbside of residents throughout the Village. This year we picked up almost 5500
yards of organic debris and leaf refuse, basically just stuff that people want to throw away from
their yards. We picked it up. We run it through a tub grinder at the end of the season and we process
it throughout the winter, turning it over and aligning it to repurpose the leaves and refuse,
essentially garbage, into something usable for the residents. We begin delivering in the Spring,
the day after Mother's Day every year. This year it was May 13th. We have a little bit of leaf
mulch left. To date, we have delivered to over 300 homes throughout the Village. Over 1100 yards
of leaf mulch have been delivered to the residents. We are very proud of this program in our
Department. It takes a lot of people, a lot of time, a lot of patience moving parts to make it happen.
We essentially take something that people are literally throwing away and sending to a landfill.
We repurpose it and send it back as 100% recycled material to residents so they can use it for their
yards. It enhances their properties throughout the Village.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. Stupczy. We definitely appreciate all of the hard
work that's involved with that. Are there any other Department Head reports this evening?
There were none.
OLD BUSINESS
Third Reading of Ordinance No. 2025-03, entitled, "An Ordinance Revising the Zone
Map Of Mayfield Village So As To Amend The Zoning Classification Of 15.6 Acres Of
Land Located South Of White Road And West Of North Commons Boulevard And
Known As Permanent Parcel Numbers 831-04-001, 831-04-002, 831-04-003, 831-05-
001, 831-05-002, 831-05-003, And 831-05-004 From Its Current Residential
Classification To Production Distribution." Introduced by Mayor Bodnar
(Administration). (First Reading — March 18, 2025; Second Reading — April 21 S`)
Prior to reading the legislation, Ms. Calta stated, Mr. President, I would like to jump in here. The
Village was notified last week that the developer terminated the Development Agreement and
will not be moving forward with this rezoning. With that, I would like to ask for a motion for
permission to withdraw this Ordinance from the agenda.
