ORDINANCE NO. 81-59 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Councilman Fred N. Carmen <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SECTION 351.11 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />PROVIDING FOR THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES <br />FOR THE HANDICAPPED AND PROHIBITING OTHER <br />PERSONS FROM PARKING, STANDING OR STOPPING <br />A MOTOR VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOCATION <br />DESIGNATED FOR THE HANDICAPPED. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VIhLAGE.~ OHIOa THAT: <br />Section 1. There is hereby enacted Section 351.11 of the <br />Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio, which shall read <br />as follows: <br />351.11 PARKING FOR THE HANDICAPPED <br />(a) Special parking locations and privileges <br />for the handicapped shall be provided by all <br />offices, commercial establishments and other <br />facilities of any kind or nature where parking <br />is provided; whether public or private, and <br />whether owned, rented or leased, such parking <br />locations to be designated in conjunction with <br />the Police Department of the municipality. Such <br />locations shall be reasonably close to exits, <br />entrances, elevators and ramps and shall be <br />designated by the International Wheel Chair symbol <br />being painted thereon or affixed to a sign adjacent <br />thereto. In no event shall there be less than <br />one (1) special parking location for the handicapped <br />for each fifty ( 50 ) total parking spaces provided . <br />(b) When a motor vehicle displaying the <br />handicapped license plate provided for in Section <br />4503.44 of the Ohio Revised Code is being operated <br />by a handicapped person then that motor vehicle <br />shall be permitted to park for a period of two (2) <br />hours in excess of the legal parking period permitted <br />by the municipality where limitations for the period <br />of parking have been designated and except where <br />the vehicle is parked in such manner as to be clearly <br />a traffic hazard, <br />
