Hardman <br />AN O~iDINANCE TO REGULATE TRAFFIC ON THE STREETS <br />AND PUBLIC HIGHti~AYS OF THE WILLAGE OF T~IAYFIELD, <br />AND REPEALING ORDINAn1CES NOS. 5, 5S, 90, and 3070 <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the Village of T%Iayfield, Ohio, <br />Section 1. <br />This ordinance shall 'ae 'mown as the Traffic Code of the Village <br />of TJlayfield and may be separately printed and distributed. <br />Section 2. <br />The end sought to be obtained by this ordinance is hereby <br />declared to be that all traffic, ?~rhether vehicular, pedestrian <br />or animal, may exist and move on the streets of the village in <br />an orderly manner, at reasonable speed and t,~ith safety to all <br />other traffic; persons and property and the provisions of this <br />ordinance shall at all times be interpreted and enforced t~rith <br />that end in view. <br />Section 3.--Definitions <br />The following t~rords and phrases when used in this ordinance <br />unless otherf~rise provided, shall have the meanings respectively <br />ascribed•to them in this section: <br />Agricultural tractor, Every self-propelling vehicle designed <br />or used for drawing other vehicles or wheeled machinery; but <br />having no provision for carrying loads independently of such other <br />® Vehicles, and used principally for agricultural purposes. <br />~! .Bic,~ycle. Atwo--wheel vehicle, propelled by human power, <br />having'a tandem arrangement of wheels equipped with tires either <br />of which is over t~~renty inches in diameter. <br />Bureau. The bureau of motor vehicles of this state. <br />Bus. Every motor vehicle designed for carrying more than <br />nine passengers and used for the transportation of persons; and <br />every motor vehicle, auto-for-hire or funeral car, other than a <br />taxi--cab, designed and used for the transportation of persons <br />for compensation, <br />Business district. The territory fronting upon a street or <br />highway, including the street or highway, beti~reen successive <br />intersections within municipal corporations ?~rhere 50 per cent or <br />more of the frontage bat?rreen such successive intersections is <br />occupied by 'puildings in use for business, or T,rithin or outside <br />of municipal corporations where SO per cent or more of the front- <br />age for a distance of 300 feet or more is occupied by buildings <br />in use for business and the said character of such territory is <br />indicated by official. traffic control devices. <br />Commercial tractor. Every motor vehicle having motive <br />po~~rer designed or used for dra~,ring other vehicles and not so con- <br />structed as to carry any load thereon, or designed or used for <br />drawing other vehicles ?,rhile carrying a portion of such other <br />vehicles, or the load thereon, or both. <br />~ Crosswalk. (a) That part of a roadway at an intersection <br />I included within the connections of the lateral lines of the side-~ <br />walks on opposite sides of the highway measured from the curbs <br />or in the absence of curbs from the edges of the traversable <br />~ roadway. <br />
