ORDINANCE No. 481'. <br />By Mr. -Beard <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING SOLICTTATTON OF SALES OF <br />GOODS,.WARFS, MERCHANDISE AND.PRTNrED MATTER lN_. <br />OR UPON PRIPATE RESIl3ENCES• - .. . <br />BE TT ORDAIlJID BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VITS~AGE OF MAYF'IELD, CUYAFiOGA GOUNi'Y <br />OHIO, THAT t ~ - - - - - ~ - <br />Sec. 1. (a). All persons not hereinafter exempted befors -eirtering <br />in or upon private~..residences in the~Village of Mayfield, Ohio, as Solicitors <br />of orders for the sale of goods, mares, merchandise or printed matters are <br />hereby required to register and obtain a permit from the Chief of Police <br />and furnish the following informations Full name of registrant and local <br />address, if any; permanent home address;. a physical description of the <br />applicant, setting forth age, height,_meigk~t, color of hair and eyes and <br />sex; motor vehicle registration number, if ate; social seeiarity number, <br />if aqy; nature of goods, wares, merchandise, and printed matter offered <br />for sale; . name and address- of the firm for or on ~rhose behalf the orders <br />are solicited or the supplier of the goods ir~volved,• a statement as to <br />the period during which the Applicant intends to solicit orders; a:speciman <br />of Applicant's signature; a statement as to whether the Applicant has been <br />convicted of-any crime imrolving moral turpitude and, i.£ so, where and <br />the nature of the offense and the punishment or penalty imposed therefor. <br />(b). The follo~ring persons shall not be required to <br />r®gister or to obtain a. permit under-the provisions of this ordinances <br />Any person se]1.ing foodstuffs which he has himself grown; ark' individual <br />selling a product manufactured bg himself; at~y person selling or deliver <br />ing milk, cream, or dairy products; any person se],ing or delivering <br />n~aspapers; and ang person ding authox3zed to aoli.eit the purchase of <br />goods, Bares, merchandise or printed matter on behalf of a~ eddcational, <br />charitable, religious or civic organization. <br />Sec. 2. (a). Upon furnishing the information required under <br />Section 1 a hereof, Applicant shall be issued a permit forthwith by the <br />Chief of Police, unless the information furnished. in compliance with this <br />Ordinance shovrs that the Applicant has been convicted of a crime iruvolving <br />moral turpitude, or if said Applicant in the opini.ori of the Chief of <br />Police is not a person of good moral character. <br />(b). Any pemnit granted hereunder may be revoked by the <br />Chief of Police for furnishing false information in connection with the <br />registrant's application, or for the subsegneYrt convicti~ln of the <br />registrant-for a crime iixvolving moral tnrpitud®, or neon proof that the <br />Applicant has been guilty of disorderly conduct, fraud, or misrepresentation <br />i.rl connection with his business, or for the violation of any ordinance <br />of the Village of B~ayfield. In any event, every permit shall expire on <br />the 31st day of December, after the date of its issue, but may be renewed <br />in the same manner that it was originally issued. <br />
