r] <br />CL <br />z <br />? <br />? <br />? <br />Ordinance No. 715 <br />, By Mr. Belzer <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE INSTAL7.,ATIOht OF GARBAGE <br />17ISPOSERS OR INCINEP•ATORS IN A-Ll NEW HOMES AND <br />BUILDINGS HEREAFTER CONSTRUCTED WITHIN THE VI'LIAGE <br />OF IiAYFIEI.D, OHIO. , <br />? <br />A <br />? <br />C? <br />? <br />? <br />0., <br />Cb <br />? <br />? <br />? <br />? <br />C? <br />? <br />? <br />?--m <br />? <br />WNEREAS, it is becoming increasingly diffieult and costly to.find <br />suitable locations for the disposition of garbage collected throughout the <br />Village of Mayf ield, Ohio; and <br />TaEiEREAS, garbage is putrifactive, odor-producing, rodent-feeding <br />and fly-breeding organic waste that increases in obnoxiousness if stored <br />in garbage cans while awaiting f or collection; and <br />W1iEREAS, the rapid growth of new construction caithin the Village <br />increases this hazard; and <br />WHEREAS, the disposition of garbage and wastes upon each individual <br />parcel of land, either by means of garbage disposers or incinerators, bef ore <br />such garbage and wastes decompose and deteriorate, is the most advanced <br />and healthful means of sanitation availableo <br />NOW THEREFQRE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE.VILLAGE OF <br />MAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY OHIO, THAT: <br />Sec. le Def initions. For the purposes of this ordinance, the <br />f ollowing def initions shall be pertinent unless the context requires <br />othertvise: , <br />(a) "Garbage" means waste o£ refuse of fruit, vegetable or <br />animal matter, or other solid or liquid kitchen waste <br />materials resulting from the preparation and handling of <br />any,food and/or drink, or the cooking of, processing of, <br />dealing in or storage of ineat, fish, fou?1, fruit or <br />vegetables. <br />(b) "°Mechanical Garbage Disposer" means a motorized device suitable <br />£or installation in direct connection with a kitchen sink, <br />that grinds garbage to such a size as to be readily waterborne, <br />and discharges snch ground garbage directly into a sanitary <br />sewerage system or septic tank, <br />(e) "Ineinerator" means a strueture or apparatus within iohich <br />,garbage and,other wastes, refuse and trash can be consumed <br />by combustion or dehydration, and specifically designed, <br />constructed and approved for the above purpose.
